Thanks for the welcome... I have been totally absorbed by some personal and professional duties in the last months/years, but I am still following - in a more or less continuous way - the AVS2DVD developments, at least as a "silent" users...

Your suggestion is an excellent shortcut, however IMHO there are still very valid reasons and use cases for adopting CC in the DVD production. CC can be (optionally) showed TOGETHER - I mean, simultaneously - with a given subtitle stream. For instance, for hearing impaired people the CC is an optimal solution in order to preserve the original DVD content, including the original subtitles. There are no other ways, AFAIK, to present simultaneously two streams of subtitles: one - the classical subpictures - based on bitmaps, and the second - the CC - which is based on pure textual information...
