Agreed. I would never trust the outer edges -- even on the most expensive high-quality disc. Is it really worth losing your valuable data to get that last 1% of the disc (which will not noticably affect quality)?

If it fits it is pure luck because of undersizing. A BD+R will hold 25,025,314,816 bytes. So I would
never recommend a setting of 24000 - as if it sized perfectly it would be 25,165,824,000 and would not fit.
