One nasty Win7 64-bit bug I forgot to mention:
If you transfer large files using the native Explorer Copy routines to an external USB3 drive (formatted with NTFS), you may get corrupted files. There will be no error message, you might only notice the corruption much later when the original files are no longer available.

Microsoft knows about this error, but they flatly refused to fix it. The only workaround is to NOT use the native file copy routines. Use TeraCopy or Total Commander or any other file copy software which uses its own copy routines.
