I understand what you mean. I think what you want to say is "This setting is dependent on the display calibration chosen in
calibration. Any setting other than
disable calibration controls for this display will be used as the baseline to produce the chosen gamma. Otherwise, this setting does nothing."

I would say "If the scaling factor is not an exact duplicate of the original, downscaling to the target resolution is done by interpolation."
