Maybe I should try that, thanks. I have been using Automatic Quality Settings with AUTO_BIAS=2 in the config.

Still, in this case of The Shining, it seems to that any quality settings should produce the same result with target output BD25, because the video does not need to be re-encoded at all to get it under 25GB (or at least that's what I understand from my experiment with a higher custom target output). But I might be missing something...
