I've got a DVR-103 and have never had a problem with media. Always wrote at 2x even with crap CD-recordable before they folded.
Lately, I've been using Aterra media. Never heard of them until recently, no problems and they sell for $13 US for a 10 pack.
I burn everything with Recordnowmax 4
