Are you talking about the "--video-filter" portion of x264, or that's completely different thing? And what happens to these capabilities if avisynth isn't installed? I mean... there's no info in the x264 help that it requires avisynth for a specific function (like the ones you describe) to work

Edit: OK, I just did a fast search and found few possible answers - vfw4x264 is somewhat faster, and certain MPEG-2 sources have troubles with avs4x264
.
