OK, finally had a chance to tewst out the DVD. It worked great when I changed the source from A2D to Directshow. Any idea why? The first AVI acts just like the others in MPC-HC both with and without FFDshow, and virtual dub complained about the audio but nothing else. (Virtual Dub complaigns about the audio in every file I throw at it) Any ideas? I kepyt the log from the new run if it will help.
