^I honestly have no idea. And I don't have time to rent and watch the Groundhog Day BD, so I can't really investigate anything.

My suggestions.

1) Look at the videos and see what's different about each of them. Resolution, Framerate, audio track, etc.

2) Try creating a custom blu-ray with just the special feature video (recompressed, of course) and see if your player plays it. The problem may be the BD menu structure and not the video.
