Literally the only reason I use Win because of mpc*/lav/madvr.
I always had/have a Linux installed beside of Win at home in the last 20 years, one 12 years old laptop of mine is
running Ubuntu 14.04 20/7 in the last 4 years without any issues.

I didn't like FAR on Win but I adore mc on Linux, I couldn't live without it.
For me TC is the best file manager of all time on Windows. Have you known that there's an opensource rewrite of it called
Double Commander?
