I just spent the last 30 minutes or so Googling this and have come up with nothing, so I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. However, I'm getting very frustrated with how little information there is about what some of the things in this program mean. Specifically, I want to know about the meaning of the options in the Video Color Depth menu of VirtualDub. I have two choices: "Decompression format", and "Output format to compressor/display".
...what do these even mean?! There's literally no information on this whatsoever, no documentation I can find, and the words are completely non-intuitive (Anton himself
even said so a year or so ago).
Could some kind soul please tell me what these options actually do? I'd be very thankful
