No such filter comes to my mind. Maybe there isn't one.

Haven't used SpatialSoften for ages, but I seem to remember that it was rather slow, generally. For the same filtering framwork, you might try to use Deen instead.


I could imagine that a rather simple chain of bicubicresize (simulating a gauss blur) with mt_lutxy limiting could do a reasonable job, and it would be pretty fast. Could you show a picture or short sample of the problem? It's mostly about how "thick" the bands are, and how "sharp" their transition gradient.
