This is also something you could've mentioned right in the beginning...
As Audionut mentioned earlier in this thread, the H.264 streams in these Canon files are Level 5.0, which is probably why Sony's players don't like them. You could try cheating the player by changing the level flag to 4.1 with
roozhou's modified ffmpeg. It's not guaranteed to work though.
Re-encoding is the way to go for better compatibility.
