BTW - line 12, as is, throws an error. Should be:
ovlp = default( overlap, bs/2)

Edit: Interesting; to my eyes, using Yadif as interpolator gives an instrinsically sharper but marginally less stable result than NNEDI, all other parameters being equal. EEDI2 crashes on me.
