In my first test the encoding took far longer than I thought it should with such a simple script and QuEnc. So I opened the log file and saw this:

<10/16/2007 10:43:43 PM>
WARNING: Cannot find 'C:\Program Files\AVStoDVD\Plugins\MultiCoreEnc.exe'. MultiThread disabled.

I looked in the plugins folder and found this:

MultiCoreEnc_.exe

Once I had renamed the file it worked as expected.
