Panasonic BD30 / BD35 player chapter skip/pause broken on 1.13.0, 1.13.1, 1.13.2
Quote:
Please do not lose your patience with this issue! I have now tested on both a Panny BD30 and BD35 running the latest firmware’s and both have the chapter skip/pause lockup issue on RipBot 1.13.0 and newer versions. These standalone players are the 2008 and 2009 multi award winning and popular selling BluRay standalone players in the UK and so a very good benchmark to get compatibility of RipBot working on.. Also please do not lose your patience to drop x264 64bit and not get it working as this can help to reduced encoding times from 25-60mins depending on movie length. Important new update! I now cannot repeat the 1 time success of 1.13.1 working in 32bit mode!! So it’s seems the 64bit issue was just a misleading fact and I cannot explain why it now does not work anymore. I have now have had some time before the weekend to conduct a number of encodes and so make a number test to try and isolate where this issue is coming from. Here are my results findings: Same movie used for all encoding projects: Bluray – DVD9 +DTS sound track Software used in all cases: - MS Vista X64 SP1 - AviSynth 2.5.8 - Ffshow rev 2653 - Haali Media Splitter 1.9.42.1 Results: 1.13.2 - 64bit = Broken 1.13.2 - 32bit = Broken 1.13.1 – 64bit = Broken 1.13.1 – 32bit = Broken 1.13.0 – 64 bit = Broken 1.13.0 – 32bit = Not tested 1.12.0 = Working !! So compatibility stops after 1.12.0. For the next test to I used 1.12.0 but upgraded the following tools with 1.13.2 versions of the tools: Eac3to 2.87 --> 3.11 MediaInfo 0.7.8 --> 0.7.11 x264 r1066M --> r1114M Results: 1.12.0 + Eac3to v3.11 + x264 r1114M + Mediainfo 0.7.11 = WORKING!!! Conclusion: This just leaves the remaining software different between 1.12.0 and 1.13.2: RibBot264 v1.12.0 --> v1.13.2 coding DGAVCDec 1.0.7 --> 1.0.8 DGIndex 1.5.3 --> 1.5.4 MKVToolnix v2.4.0 --> v2.4.2 Oggenc ?.?? --> 2.85 Ssatosrt r? --> r2 Atak: Do these findings now help you to tracking done this issue? Should I also import the 1.13.2 versions of DGAVCDec, DGIndex, MKVToolnix, Oggenc and Ssatosrt into 1.12.2 and test again to isolate these software’s leaving just the RipBot coding difference that could be causing the compatibility issue with the Panny BD30 and BD35 units? Please let me know how we can move forward with this issue? Many thanks in advance for your time and effort put into Ripbot’s making and development... Atak
when I use the latest version of RibBot I get this error after I have added a *.ts file. "DirectShowSource: I can't determine the frame rate of the video, you must use the 'fps' parameter." Is this error caused by RibBot or TsMuxer? |

Make sure that libavcodec or ffmpeg-mt are selected!

How Do I Maintain Subtitles While Ripping Blu-ray DVD With RipBot264?
I just tried the RipBot264 transcode utility that was referenced in the latest print edition of MaximumPC (March 2009), relating to ripping Blu-Ray DVDs. Used in conjunction with AnyDVD-HD, RipBot264 is a GREAT tool to accomplish essentially a one application transcode to either MP4 or MKV (I prefer MKV), and I REALLY appreciate the ability to use RipBot264 with AnyDVD-HD to produce a wonderful ripped result. However, I am having difficulty with the subtitles.
I own a full retail Blu-ray copy of the 1970 Oscar award winning movie "Patton." The original size of the main movie file is over 37GB, so it needs some considerable reduction to be able to be burned on a DVD+ DL disk. However, the transcode to that 8GB size, using the latest version of RipBot264, produces an outstanding and visually brilliant movie. But, no matter what tweaks I've tried, I can't get the English subtitles to appear in the ripped version. During numerous scenes in that movie, German military officers and other have extended dialog spoken in German, which appears as English subtitles in the original retail copy that I have. However, the ripped version does not have any subtitles, and that seriously detracts from the movie. Can someone please help me with getting the English subtitles to appear in the ripped version. Many thanks for any assistance that can be offered. Best regards. TheBeagle |

With 1.13.+ if it works. It will read the sup file directly. Use the same add subtitle and select the sup file. What you can also do it burn the srt directly into the image so the translation comes up automatically. However, it will be part of the image all the time. If you don't want to do that then just use the subtitle button the remote to display the right subtitle. |

Only just seen your latest post, but since RipBot was set to auto shutdown the temp folder data is lost this time. Anyway here are my latest test results: I used 1.12.0 but upgraded the following tools with 1.13.2 versions of the tools: Eac3to 2.87--> 3.11 MediaInfo 0.7.8 --> 0.7.11 x264 r1066M --> r1114M DGAVCDec 1.0.7 --> 1.0.8 DGIndex 1.5.3 --> 1.5.4 Results: 1.12.0 + Eac3to v3.11 + x264 r1114M + Mediainfo 0.7.11 + DGAVCDec 1.0.8 + DGIndex 1.5.4= WORKING!! As requested I will now run 2 tests and upload all the data files you have requested: Test 1: Will by 1.13.2 in 32bit mode (ini = 0) but with the complete “Tools” folders exchanged with the tools folders from 1.12.0 Test 2: Will be totally standard 1.12.0 Last edited by Discoboy; 20th February 2009 at 18:39. |
