No. Sorry it hasn't. Just for testing, can you provide me with a short clip to use for importing?

The problem with TSMUXER is that it doesn't provide a capability to include a menu or to have multiple selectable items.

Yes, it was only a quick test.

To be honest, at this point I think the problem is with the player... but I'm open to being proven wrong -- so I'll do some investigation.

I really wish I hadn't given that old Sony player away. I could sure use if for testing...

I have a Sony BDP-S350 that you can have for the cost of shipping. I even have the original box. I will never use it again.

Here a .zip with 3 samples of lossless captures in .avi container: HFYU (Huffyuv), ULY2 (from the UTVideo suite) and LAGS (Lagarith).
My preference for importing in BD-RB would be HFYU.

jdobbs, I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but I did Hobbit 3D disc 2 (movie only to .iso) on 05021, and the L/R views are still reversed.

I assume you know that they will be converted to AVC when they are imported.

Which Hobbit? I have Hobbit, Desolation of Smaug, 3D (bought for a bug report) -- any chance that's the one?

Are you absolutely positive they are reversed? It's not something left over from a previous attempt? I tested it pretty thoroughly.

Outline exactly what you're doing and also provide the log and INI contents -- and I'll look at it. Also make sure you mention any "tweaking" you may be doing with other tools.

Yes (same as DivX).

Edit:
Captures to x264 AVC lossless (format profile High 4:4:4 Predictive@L3) can be imported without conversion. I tested it with x264vfw which is available from Komisar or MasterNobody.

If you want to keep the conversion lossless you can always set IMPORT_CONVERT_CRF=0 in your INI. Of course it will make the pseudo-BD structure pretty big in your IMPORT folder.

Good point. This will reduce the lossy conversion to the final reencoding step. The size of the intermediate import file shouldn't matter as the video clips are normally short.

The first movie in the trilogy, An Unexpected Journey. Extended version of that, in fact.

100% certain. Burned output to disc, played on an Oppo player connected to a 3D projector. Verified reversal by viewing movie and reversing glasses to see proper depth.

Nope, I've deleted all .iso files created on 05020 and earlier versions so there's no change of a mix-up.

1) Created an .iso image of the Hobbit disc 2 using last version of AnyDVD HD
2) Mounted .iso image in Windows 10 using its internal image mounter
3) Opened drive letter H: (i.e. the mounted .iso) on BD-RB 05021
4) Selected "Movie-Only Backup"
5) Disc has two playlists: 00100 with 16 chapters and 00960 with 1 chapter. BD-RB chose the correct one (00100) automatically
6) BD-RB tends to make undersized outputs of 3D movie-only backups when target is set to BD-25 so I used a Custom Target Size of 24300MB
7) Ran backup, burned resulting .iso on disc, tested output as described above

Note: I have checked the .iso image created in step 1 and verified views are not reversed in it. As for tweaks, I can think of nothing else besides the custom target size.

jdobbs, didn't BD-RB use to have a hidden option for setting whether it would create the SSIF directory or, alternatively, stereo .m2ts files (i.e. no SSIF directory) when making Full Disc backups of 3D titles?

I thought I'd try to make a Full Disc Backup of Hobbit disc 2 and use other tools to create an .iso image file from the STREAM + STREAM/SSIF directory structure, but the Backup does not have SSIF. Instead, .m2ts files have two video streams, and I can't seem to find that "SSIF or stereo m2ts" option anymore.

update: Played the Full Disc backup's main movie stereo .m2ts on Stereoscopic Player, and had to use player's "swap views" button to correct for reversed L/R views. I'll burn the data on disc to verify on Oppo + 3D projector combo.

Colin:
From the HIDDENOPTS.TXT
OUTPUT_3D_ISO=n n = 0/1 - 0=Off (default) - if set to "1", movie-only output is to an ISO rather than a folder

and from the CHANGES.TXT
Quote:
April 7th, 2014 - v0.47.04
- Implemented 3D Full Backup Mode. Note that
BD-RB converts 3D method so that the SSIF
folder is no longer required -- the method
is 100% compliant with the BD standard.
(v0.47.03)
- Due to the changes in the way 3D is handled,
BD-RB no longer outputs to ISO by default on
movie-only 3D encodes. It can be enabled by
using the OUTPUT_3D_ISO hidden option. Note:
This option only applies to movie-only 3D
encodes. (v0.47.03)

That's not the hidden option I was asking about.

Output to ISO means the ISO will contain the SSIF structure. It works for movie-only though, not for full backups IIRC.

Yes, I know. But unless my memory totally fails, I'm fairly certain that at some in the past it was possible to make Full Disc backups where BD-RB output Blu-ray directory structure (i.e. not .iso) that contained the SSIF directory. And also that it was possible to use a hidden option to change that so that instead of outputting SSIF, BD-RB created "in-mux" m2ts files that had both views in them as two separate video streams.

edit: Found it in Changes.txt:

Quote:
- Made in-mux (single M2TS) 3D multiplexing
mode the default on full-backup 3D. This
can be changed back with the hidden option
FORCE_INMUX_3D=0.

jdobbs, I'm happy to report that the L/R views are not reversed on Hobbit's Full Disc backup containing in-muxed stereo .m2ts files. I was actually surprised that my ancient Oppo Blu-ray player had no issues with in-muxed stereo files. I know they are supposedly 100% compliant with the BD spec but I've always suspected it's one of those features that is not mandatory and hence not supported by all manufacturers.

Despite this success I'd still prefer to be able to make movie-only .iso backups that don't have their views reversed. For example, this Hobbit disc has several GBs worth of unnecessary data on it that only serves to lower the bitrate of the main feature when present on the same BD-25 backup.

In-mux is not "supposedly" anything. I know what I'm doing, and when I say it is 100% compliant -- it is 100% compliant. Support is required by the spec -- so if there is a 3D player out there that doesn't support it THE PLAYER IS NOT COMPLIANT. It is used on many commercial discs. Frankly I think the SSIF format is ridiculous (with its faux appearance of two files that really only exists due to exotic use of sector pointers) and can see no good reason why it is used. I think it's just there to make copying difficult.

Can you send me the MPLS of the playlist that is reversed?
