I don't have any plans to do that anytime soon. I don't believe I even have any disc which uses that. Most discs with localized video I have seen used different titles instead of Angles.

I could reproduce the problem on a disc with an Intel GPU, unfortunately it appears to be a long-standing Intel issue that can result in the GPU reporting a "busy" state infinitely, causing decoding to just die. So for the time being, i've turned off hardware accelerated decoding again.

Yes I know. I have a large Bluray library and these from GKIDS are the first ones I've come across that uses this feature. Unfortunately I've already purchased 14 of them. I suppose the only solution right now is to rip all the corresponding mt2s into a single MKV. It just feels wrong seeing names like Gillian Anderson and the Fanning sisters in the credits of a Studio Ghibli film.

Does anyone know of any other solution? My only requirement is madvr.

Next version will have (limited) UltraHD Blu-ray support. You can already test it if you install the nightly build.

Hi nevcairiel!

1. D3D11 doesn't work with the nVidia Optimus on Intel GPU if in the control panel nVidia selected GPU nVidia.

DXVA Checker shows that d3d11 enable on Intel GPU if in the control panel nvidia selected GPU nVidia.

2. nVidia CUVID doesn't work with the nVidia Optimus if in the control panel nvidia selected any GPU.

3. After install LAV 0.70.2.88 mvc (software mode) doesn't work with the nVidia Optimus if in the control panel nvidia selected any GPU.

Windows 10 1709, Intel i5-4200M, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (20.19.15.4835), NVIDIA GeForce 840M (23.21.13.9065)

Optimus is generally just not supported. Use it at your own discression, but don't expect anything to work. I do not provide support for such setups because they are impossible.

madVR works great with Optimus, but only in 2D
On Intel GPU - 3D is slide show and later crush Intel driver.
On nVidia GPU - 3D doesn't work.
madVR or LAV Filters bugs?

LAV has no control over what hardware is available. It'll just try to use it. If its unavailable due to Optimus, there is nothing I can do about that.
Just leave DXVA2-CB or D3D11 in "auto" mode and let it pick the device, it'll try to find one that works, I hope.

I have optimus, too, and I can get it to work well enough for 2D. It's not a well implemented technology so any issues you have with it are not going to be things LAV and madvr are going to solve. Bug MS, nVidia, and Intel.

Only on Intel GPU works (if in the nVidia control panel selected Intel GPU).
But Intel GPU is slow for madVR

The first way is like you said, an mkv. With my chapterEditor is it an easy task and should be done in less then 15min(depend on your hardware).

The second way: You can manipulate the mpls with BDEdit. Make a copy before!

Multi-Angle mpls works similar to Multi-Edition BDs, different m2ts files are used for different Angles/Editions.
Find out which m2ts files belongs to the Angle you want.
I'm not an expert in BDEdit but it should be possible to change the "main" playlist of an Angle-mpls.

If you select the NVIDIA GPU for MPC-HC and then choose DXVA2 Copy-Back or D3D11 and select the HD 4600 in LAV, what happens? madVR still uses the Intel for rendering?

Read my first post.
D3D11 should theoretically work (see image DXVA Checker).
