Yeah, virtually the same mobo, chip and ram config too.
Very strange.... Could somehow enabling "auto lip sync" in my amp helped with this?

with close PSNR and other matrics the psnr is not that important but how the human eye perceives it. so it's as always not surefull to judge quality. so when testing FSRCNNX in the past it wasn't massive worse or something it was just massively slower. BTW there is also a tensorflow version this version could be up to 8 times faster. if that'S the case it a good reason to add it to madVR. there is also a FP16 math version of RAVU which at least according to the creator is barely faster but it was complicated to create. this sounds something totally worth testing. |

But when I switch to WASAPI the "clock deviation" in the OSD either reports 0% or is not even reported since it's not measurable. When it reports 0% the repeats go to about 3-4 hours... although most of the time there is no value for clock deviation or drops/repeats. This is the reason why I stopped chasing the "timing" dragon. Plus getting 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 50, 59, and 60 timings to all work with custom resolutions is a huge chore. CRU will let you change 23 and 29, but not 24 and 30. The only way I found to set custom resolutions for everything was to delete those "standard" timings in the EDID and then set up all 8 in the AMD custom resolutions. Then madVR can do it's optimize thing, and the time involved with it all is just not worth it anymore... QB

Crazy stuff. Like I said, I use no custom timings for 23p, and with AMD I get no repeat or dropped frames on my set up.
Anyways, when is Madshi back? anyone?...asking for a friend.

mine seems to be locked at 20+ mins regardless of what I do with CRU, I think my card is shafted as with indentical settings, when i put my 1080p AMD card back in I was all back to normal, hours, days in between drops.
When you say you are using WASAPI, where are you setting this exactly?

@oldpainlesskodi
I just did another test... I get the same results as you now... Your "amp" comment made me realize that you are probably using HDMI audio. So I enabled it on mine (yes I have it disabled) and set my player to use that (god my TV's speakers are terrible compared to my ancient Logitech's, even though they are actually decent TV speakers, LOL)…. anyway, I then got -0.00036% clock deviation and "no frame drops/repeats expected". At least that answers that. QB

As for your card, it is working just fine. You just need to go through hoops to get custom resolutions to work. Or use HDMI audio. QB

@QBhd - cool. well, at least it's starting to narrow the potential problems down.

What are your Lav audio settings? That's about the only other thing I can think of.

I know what his problem is... he just isn't doing what I say to fix it. I have the exact same problem.
Remove all custom resolutions Reset CRU Reboot Open CRU and remove standard timings Reboot Open madVR and delete any greyed out "identifications" (this might not be needed, but it doesn't hurt) create new custom resolutions in AMD you can use these as a starting point AMD Custom Resolutions Reboot (just to be sure) Play video and optimize as needed in madVR QB

this is the bit I dont understand about mine, look at my current settings here, it clearly states I should be getting a frame drop every 1.4 hours which I could probably live with but i'm still getting20 + mins, its like MADVR is ignoring my current settings and is continuing to just use the measure timings. In fact it doesnt matter what I chose from there and reboot it makes no difference to the times shown in screen: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgvFafeelEBikMxK...8pFyA?e=zsXZdd if we could explain this we could probably get to the bottom of it.

pretty standard, HDMI ARC, HDMI out of PC to ARC input on reciever, ARC out to HDMI ARC input on TV - I've also tried other cables and another TV, same issue. Nothing has changed in that respect though, its only PC hardware thats changed, if I take my RX 5700 out and put in an old 1080p AMD card all is back to normal, I guess it has to be this RX5700 but OPL is having no issues and i'm confident when I first got the card I didnt have this issue so I cant work out has changed.
I know things can make a difference but we need to explain why I cant move mine off 20 mins regardless of what I do in CRU, are there some details instuctions for using CRU to ensure i'm not missing anything, I've read a couple and it seemed very strasight forward so I dont see how I could.

Just for testing: Connect the RX 5700 with HDMI direct with the TV and use internal speaker of the TV.
Remember to disable bitstreaming for the test I don't understand the ARC of your chain. ARC input of AVR is the output to the TV of the AVR, the sound is returning from TV. For my RX 5700 XT I don't need any custom resolution -> 11,8 hours are good enough for me with WASAPI MPC Audio Renderer of MPC-BE |

thats just the port i'm using, I've always used that one, it makes no difference really, i've tried going straight to my PC and bypassed the AVR on another HDMI port, made no difference.

what is the most recent NVIDIA GTX 1050 driver with fully working HDR/CRU and 3D?, I might as well drop my 1050 in to see what that does.
