I don't intend to do either of those things. Sorry. There are no MF codecs of value and its easy enough to configure DXVA2 to the needs of your setup without some complicated fallback.

If you are talking about bitstreaming. DTS-HD gets enabled if you first enable DTS.

Video lag (DXVA2 Native, Copy-Back, Software Decoding) with EVR and EVR-CP, play smooth unless I try one of these three way below
- Frame Time Correction enabled in MPC-HC
- Intel Quick-Sync enabled
- madVR as Video Renderer

Tried other DS Filters, latest ffdshow-tryouts and MPC Video Decoder (from MPC-BE), both play smooth.

It is the fault of IDM. The original 360p WebM file plays fine and has a framerate of 23.976 instead of the 24.000 shown in your MediaInfo log.

In your 'working' cases the bad framerate value is getting 'corrected' or is ignored.

Is there a reason to use "Expand 6.1 to 7.1" vs. "Enable Mixing" with the Output Speaker Configuration being either 5.1 or 7.1? I have a PC with 5.1 and a HTPC with 7.1. I'm just thinking, if I'm already using the mixer and I'm playing a 6.1 file, wouldn't the mixer serve the same function as the "Expand 6.1 to 7.1" option.

I am trying to use LAV with madVR but whenever I play a MVC 3D movie the audio bitstream stops working. It also happens when I enter DSD11 FSE mode too. How can I fix this?

12bit HEVC 4:4:4

LAV 0.68.1 is still having trouble decoding 12bit HEVC 4:4:4

Here's some short 10 second test files:
http://bit.ly/1NxTIUy

This file shows green vertical lines.
video-x265-12bit-444.mp4

All the other files including 12it HEVC 4:2:0 play ok.

Hi,

i have some Dolby Pro Logic audio CDs.
In the Status tab i only see pcm_s16le and the channel output only shows left and right.
Does LAV not decode Dolby Pro Logic?

No, it does not. Dolby Pro Logic is not an audio format, CDs are just uncompressed PCM. You would need an external Dolby audio processor to make use of DPL processing.

To bad. I thought i can skip adding a receiver to my setup.
But it seems like there are also no 9.1 sound cards.
So no more Asus Essence and it looks like there is no way around HDMI and bitstream today if somebody also wants Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D.

I m on a optimus system intel hd 5500 / nvidia 930m, using latest mpc-be, madvr and lav nigthly on windows 8.1 i also use reclock so is the x86 versions
Both laptop display and hdmi outputs by intel, so nvidia only process the image

I tried to use hardware accelaration on lav, all options are avaliable to me... if i set dxva cb lav shows nvidia 930m as avaliable but no matter what option i choose: cuvid, dxva native oe dxva-cb when i play any file lav shows the option selected but on decoder shows the normal codec and on hardware accelaration shows none... only quicksync works...
Is this because optimus? Is this normal?
In madvr thread people said that cuvid and dxva native is not the ideal and can degrate image quality... same for quicksync? I ready that the latest drivers for broadwell allows hevc hybrid decoding but in lav quicksync hevc is greyd out... im doing something wrong? I want to use dxva cb with nvidia, it is possible?

Some users in the madvr forum reported, that with AMD RX480 DXVA CB does not work with HEVC and 10bit files ( using latest LAV filters ). Is this a driver problem with AMD?

With Optimus you are on your own, those systems are terrible. Neither the NVIDIA nor the Intel GPU can be used properly on those things.
Note that all HWAccels result in the exact same decoding quality, with one tiny exception when using madVR - DXVA2 Native, which is due to the way madVR accesses the image which can result in chroma blurring. But all others are absolutely identical.

Only AMD can answer you that.

Ok I'm lost.
If i understand it right then there is no way to decode Dolby Pro Logic on the PC. The same thing than also applies to "Dolby Digital EX" and "DTS-ES Matrix" where channel six is encoded into other channels?

What i can't find out if the receiver should auto detect Dolby Pro Logic and switch to it (and if does it work with RCA or just SPDIF)? Also how can i tell if a file has Dolby Pro Logic?
