I thing I am far from what is the right way to make a MKV.

Do I have to use first a program like AnyDVD HD to decode the protection on bluray?
I thought ripbot do this. Not?

I have DVDFab, for my DVD's, it's ok with this program?
Some more info please I am new to all this as you understand.

1) Install ANYDVD HD
2) Make sure that ANYDVD HD is running in background (tray icon)
3) Open any .m2ts directly from Blu-Ray disc in ripbot264

Quick question. I am doing a quick test trying to mirror some test encode files that I have. One encode is done at High@L3.1. When I choose the 3.1 profile in Ripbot264 I get Main@L3.1. What option do I need to change in the video profile to switch from Main to High? Thanks.

Yes! It works fine!

@ Trayman & Atak_Snajpera

Thank you for your support and your fast replay. Sorry that slipping me that I need AnyDVD for decryption.

Atak,

I am running into a problem again with "Vicky Christina Barcelona" where RipBot gets stuck on "Please wait...initializing." Back in an earlier version of RipBot you released an update to handle the weird 3.1 audio that some discs, like this one, have, and I am wondering if that is the problem again.

I can see in processes that "Aften.exe" is running, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

Besides the explanation of the Atak... You must create in "Encoder Setttings"

Or, If you know what you're doing... Open any TXT Profiile, configure and Save as... [HIGH 3.1] Custom

ripbot sees it as 29.97, if I don't touch anything and just watch the preview in ripbot before ripping the movie the audio is already way out of sync (if I check the audio tracks in ripbot it says audio delay is 39881ms). Like I said in my earlier post, I can mess with the audio delay to get the audio in sync. But when you watch the movie it drifts so ends up out of sync the longer you watch the movie.

For movies that are 29.97 and have horrible interlace lines I choose reverse telecine in ripbot and leave decimate restore to 23.976. It's worked so far on all the other movies. Doing that the audio is still way off. I've also tried switching to mkv and just doing a stream copy of the audio and that is also out of sync probably because ripbot is seeing that 39881ms delay.

Ripping the movie with ripbot gets me the same length as in handbrake according to mediainfo, 1h 52mn.

Stuck at 99.9%

Hi everyone. I'm having a problem with encoding some of my files to .mkvs. Some of my files will only get to 99.9% and then just sit there. In every case that this happens, the x264 process is not running anymore. Unfortunately, it doesn't create a log file in Ripbot's log directory. Is there any information I can pull from the job's directory that might help? I also have a screenshot below to show how the encode is "stuck". Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi guys,

I'm sorry to answer to this old message but as a developer I need to bring some explanations:

Supporting or not large files rather depends on the runtime than the development itself.

That being said, all runtimes support large files except some official mingw/mingw32 ones which rely on the microsoft visual 6 (1998) C runtime. You can actually ask for using newer runtimes at build time but the support is incomplete. The solution is to use a unofficial mingw or to patch some mingw (resp. mingw32) headers to directly call the right functions. We've discussed this among developers and concluded we would wait for mingw to provide some support to a runtime newer than 1998 (which is in the roadmap).

On Windows, cygwin and microsoft free tools (http://gpac.wp.institut-telecom.fr/2...soft-visual-c/) work with no restriction.

I hope it is clearer now.

Solving asynchrony while encoding a DVD

Solving or avoiding asynchrony when you encode from DVD files:
Process from an original DVD... The encoding of DVD files is still a reality.

I wait that my written English is correct, and doesn't come for confuse them.
When joining the VOB files have two methods that do the same thing: PgcDemux and "DVD Shrink".
First, you must make a copy (decrypt) of the DVD for the HD only the main movie and without compression,
or 100% of his size using the DVDFab or AnyDVD.
The "DVD Shrink" also removes the protection of DVD, but he is out of date for some things.
Not always a difference of length of the audio will be a delay.
Always consider the whole files. A partial copy or a cutting doesn't serve as a parameter.

Follow the reading...
Code:
Use PgcDemux to join the VOB files.
The PgcDemux doesn't solve problems of interlaced,
but when you join the VOB files with your application, certainly solves the problem of delay.
The PgcDemux really stabilizes, while joining the VOB files, ending any asynchrony. He works from the IFO file.

Single process... DVD Shrink, It does the same thing as the PgcDemux.
1º) Open DVD Shrink -> Edit -> Preferences -> Output Files -> uncheck the last two items
- Split VOB files into 1GB size chunks (recommended)
- Logical remapping of enabled streams.

2º) Then click the tab Re-author
In "DVD Browser" locate the DVD folder with VOB files.

3º) Going for the directory, open the folder with the DVD files.

4º) You will visualize the VOB files totalized into a single file -> click 2x on the file.

5º) Double click "Title 1" to create the DVD file structure
The file is totaled transported for the window of the side.

6º) In the Compression Settings tab -> Video -> change for No Compression

7º) As soon as it opens the window "Backup DVD" -> in the tab "Target Device" ->
in "Select backup target " -> change or stay as "Hard Disk Folder"
Choose the destination to save the new copy... below, disable "Create VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS subfolders"
Remembering that while entering in the RipBot264 in "Properties", if closed "Deinterlace" and the "Decimate",
is a sign that everything is OK, and will not occur asynchrony.

When a software encoder accepts only ISO images...
File tab -> click Backup...
Once you open the window DVD Backup -> Target Device tab -> under Select backup target: leave as "ISO Image File"
Choose the destination to save the ISO image.

Other methods to create ISO image, DVD folders and files...

1. tsMuxeR
-> Use "Add" for the VOB first, and "Join" for the remainder -> and select "Demux" -> Start demuxing
If you only have a MPEG-2 file, also make the tsMuxeR demuxing before. Will be extracted MPV and AC3 files.
continues below...

2. DVDAuthorGUI
-> add title -> MPV video file -> AC3 audio file -> File -> select "Create ISO after Authoring" -> author DVD -> Name the new folder -> Save
You finished of reassemble the ISO image, folders and files from DVD!

Other support tools:DelayCut and Mpg2Cut2
However, if you continue having problems with audio gives a chance for the DelayCut. Make a "demux" of the audio before.
The DVDAuthorGUI is also ideal to create the DVD files structure.
I hope I have myself made understanding in the explanation of everything, and that come on be useful.

You can also do the encoding of the DVD without audio, joining the audio later:
"Demux" of everything with the PgcDemux, and AC3 audio without conversion.

Joining the audio files in containers:
MP4 use the YAMB
MKV use the MKVmerge
AVCHD use the tsMuxer

Extract DVD subtitles: SubRip or Subtitle Edit No installer - portable version.

My question is directly related to Ripbot although I see a lot of other related topics are discussed, without any connection with the subject, and they receive answers...

@ benjyv:

Looks like this parameter is not yet covered by any GUI controls. So you may have to add a custom command line option for it.

I'm having isssus with Ripbot v.4 and 5. I updated to 5 when it came out but then I started having constant video freezing but audio kept going fine. So I reverted back to v4, but same problem. So them I uninstalled Ripbot and all the codecs is needs and ran a regisrty cleaner and checked for orphaned folders and deleted them, rebooted. Reinstalled Ripbot v4 again with all the lastest codecs it requests. Make anothe AVCHD and same problem still, and so I again updated to v5 again. Why am I having this issue? I'm playing this on $ony DVD+R and $ony DVD+R DL on PS3 and standalone Bluray player. Please get back with with a possible resolution. Thanks.

The log isn't created until the job is finished . Do you still have space on your HDD?
