I think the CX fixed PC mode in general, not just with HDMI 2.1. It is a lot better than it was on my C9, especially significant with HDR, but it is still better with SDR.

HDMI 2.1 allows YCbCr 444 at 10 bit and high refresh rates but I would still send a CX 8 bit YCbCr 444 limited at 60 Hz with HDMI 2.0b. I would have madVR dither to 8 bit even when sending 10 bit YCbCr 444 to the display, it really helps with banding. These OLEDs still need all the help they can get with banding if you get picky about test patterns.

Please do run your own tests for banding, I would love more data points for the CX testing RGB full v.s. YCbCr 444 limited in PC mode. I am fairly confident in my own testing but that doesn't mean I am actually correct.
SDR gradient tests (use with madVR).

I'm using an Acer X34 (3440x1440, ultrawide) monitor that I'd like to use play UHD HDR movies on. It doesn't support HDR but if I understand correctly, I can use madVR for tone-mapping.

Is it worth purchasing Calman for calibration?

I have a i1 Display Pro meter that I haven't used in many years but I also just purchased an LG CX OLED. I was thinking about buying the latest Calman (home version with LG autocal) to calibrate the LG CX, Acer X34, and my LG 27" HDR PC monitors.

I have ordered a RTX 3060 Ti. It is going to replace my RX 480.

Currently I run a GTX 1080 in my HTPC which runs pretty good with madvr. The RTX has 2x HDMI 2.1 and VP9/VP11/AV1 decoders which seems to be a better choice in my HTPC, don't you think?

@sofakng - Check out the calibration section over at AVS https://www.avsforum.com/forums/disp...libration.139/

There is a thread for CalMAN for LG and also threads for each year's OLED model. I would get myself familiar with everything before purchasing the software.

2 HDMI was one of the selling points for me when I got my Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT... that and the insanely easy to replace fans

ASUS and a few others have 2 HDMI out. At least the 3080/3090.

Hi, total noob here trying madVR in Potplayer.

Once starting to play a video, a red border appears after a few seconds... what does that mean?

Edit: Mmmm... it seems it was an avisynth script leftover from SVP. Weird that it only shows that red border when using MadVR...

Even if the price and shop references don't make much sense for someone outside of the EU (or even Germany, where this site is the strongest), their filtering for features is awesome to find products that suit your needs.

For example, 3060 Tis with dual HDMI:
https://geizhals.eu/?cat=gra16_512&x...+-+RTX+3060+Ti

The only issue right now is that they sometimes don't list products that have no reseller at all, which currently happens with many graphics cards that are perpetually out of stock...

I have a problem and see if someone can find an explanation. I am with madVR (v114) and nvidia gtx1080 card and for a while (before it did not) when I try to watch a movie in 3D format, if the cursor is on the display screen, the 3D does not work and the screen blinks all the time while ... I have to move the cursor to one end of the screen and put it on top of the windows status bar so that the 3D works perfectly. I use the latest version of nvidia that allows 3D viewing, so I don't know where the problem may be (I display 2:35 on screen with JVC RS400 projector). Many thanks

Panasonic hz2000. Madvr on some hdr files disables “intelligent frame creation” an option in the TVs settings. I’m sure it’s some simple setting in madvr but can’t find it. It’s probably highly unlikely anybody know the solution. But it’s worth a try. Going crazy
Mpc hc and madvr. Gtx 1060 win10. Files are 4K hevc dts hdr mkv

Are the refresh rates different between full screen and windowed? Is it possible that Pure Direct is enabled for 24Hz, and that's causing interpolation to be disabled?

no madVR can't do that but the GPU driver can.

i don'T have an nvidia card at hand and AFAIK it's not changeable on AMD.
