My end result would be a 720P compliant video that I would stream to my tv using my WDTV. I probably will never burn these movies per say but if the option did come up I would like to be able to. I noticed that if I did crop the borders the resolution does drop, then if I use the resize settings the borders are readded, is this by design? Thanks Clownzer |

Hmm... on my first attempt with 1.15.0, I noticed a much different result than 1.14.6:
1. I use eac3to to demux BD video and audio into .mkv and .dts. 2. If the video is AVC, I use mkvtoolnix to merge them into an mkv. 3. If the video is VC-1, I use RipBot264 to re-encode the video to AVC with a COPY STREAM of the audio, muxed into an mkv. Normally RipBot264 with a CQ=18 will produce a near 1:1 size/bitrate and quality copy of the video. With 1.15, however, it decreased the bitrate from 21.2Mbps to 4.2Mbps. Same 4.0 profile, same CQ=18, same stream copy for audio. What's changed? Edit--Here's my attached EncodeVideoPass1.cmd: Code:
"D:\Download\DVD\BLURAY\RipBot264\tools\avs2yuv\pipebuf.exe" "D:\Download\DVD\BLURAY\RipBot264\tools\avs2yuv\avs2yuv.exe" "F:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1.avs" -raw - : "D:\Download\DVD\BLURAY\RipBot264\tools\x264\x264_x64.exe" --crf 18 --stats "F:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1.stats" --fps 24000/1001 --min-keyint 24 --keyint 240 --frames 140624 --sar 1:1 --level 4.0 --aud --nal-hrd --vbv-bufsize 25000 --vbv-maxrate 25000 --filter 0,0 --ref 3 --bframes 3 --b-adapt 1 --direct auto --subme 7 --aq-mode 1 --trellis 1 --partitions all --me umh --output "F:\temp\RipBot264temp\video.264" - 1920x1080 : 2 Last edited by lecatpuke; 2nd January 2010 at 15:40. |

yes, the resize auto adds the borders to preserve the AR (you wouldn't want to stretch a 2.35 to 1.78). if you want to crop and resize you may want to see if you can use the custom resize. I'm re-encoding right now so I can't check any of those options to see if it might work =\. Keep in mind if you do crop the letterbox bars off that it won't be compliant with bluray players and will have to be readded if you want to burn it as a bluray / avchd. if it doesn't seem to properly allow you to do the custom resize with the crop you may have to run it through twice to achieve the desired results |

Hi there...
Could we have an option to NOT downmix to 16bit all audio streams? The Popcorn Hour C-200 can player 24bit FLAC, at the moment I'm using eac3to on the audio to get a 24bit FLAC audio track and then muxing the video output of Ripbot264. I know I asked before but this was before the Popcorn Hour C-200 was upgraded with FLAC audio support, it's becoming quite popular standalone player so would make sense imo. |

No "X COPY STREAM" anymore Help!
Hi all,
I have built a new Win 7 64 bit machine and now I never get the option of "X COPY STREAM" on the audio just the "AFTEN 5.1" the "DTS-MA" was extracted of the disk. Always used to get the "X COPY STREAM" on my vista build. Any Ideas |

i have found the bit rate is alot lower on version 1.15 vs 1.14. this is using profile 4.0 cq18, i normal expect a file about 12gb but im getting then about 4-6gb??
Another i just read a few posts ago that another user has had this same issue, is this meant to be the case?? or is this an error of some description?? Thanks |

This is probably due to the update in the X264 executable. X264 had some internal changes that affected the way CRF values are applied. All you have to do is lower your CRF value until you reach a form of quality that is comparable to your older encodes.

I posted with the same issue earlier. Originally I used CRF=18 to get close to a 1:1 bitrate from VC-1 to AVC, but until someone hashes out the change to x264, I'm going to use 2-pass settings with the desired bitrate set to the original bitrate. |

Is ripbot able to grab just the forced subs and build those in the image?
It would also be nice to get 24bit FLAC. I don't understand the reason for downmixing it to 16bit? Last edited by archer75; 4th January 2010 at 08:02. |

Hi I'm having a problem with mkv's and ac3 audio. I'm converting some tru-blood eps to mp4 to play on my ipod and everything goes great with no errors. The problem is that i have no sound after the first 50 secs or so. After its shows what happened on the previous episode I get no sound. I don't know what the problem is but the original works find in mpc.
In the ripbot temp folder it has the audio.acc file which is the same way. There is a 2_audio_Undeterminded.ac3 file in the job1 folder. I'm assuming thats the ac3 file that was demuxed from the original mkv. I'm using the latest ripbot. I've tried several eps and have the same problem with all of them. Can someone anyone help? I've search for answers but not having any luck. I've been trying to figure this out for days now. I'm not sure what I need to post so that you can understand whats going on but here are a couple of files. Here is the job1.ini: [JobSettings] VideoFile=E:\Backup\Movies\True BloodS02 MKV\True.Blood.S02E08.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION.mkv VideoCodec=h264 VideoWidth=1280 VideoHeight=720 VideoAspectRatio=16:9 VideoProfile=[BASE 1.3] Custom SourceFPS=23.976 MovieFPS=23.976 FPSinGUI=23.976 SourceNumberOfFrames=77917 SourceMovieLength=3249.79145812479 CurrentMovieLength=3249.79145812479 SourceAudioLength=3249.856 Frames=77917 Duration=0:54:9.791 Mode=CQ kbps=18 AudioFile=E:\temp\RipBot264temp\job1\2_audio_Undetermined.ac3 AudioFileSize=155993088 AudioCodec=ac3 AudioBPS=384000 AudioProfile=2.0 CT AAC-LC 128 kbps [abr] Frequency=48000 Channels=2 DurationAudio=0:54:9.856 AudioLength=3249.856 Normalize=200% AudioDelay=0 AudioLang=Undetermined [und] Output=C:\Users\SiFu Lee\Desktop\TB0208.mp4 Container=mp4 LockSize=0 Size=447 Deinterlace=Do not deinterlace Crop=Do not crop CropTop=0 CropBottom=0 CropLeft=0 CropRight=0 Resize=iPOD 320x240 [1,78:1] ResX=320 ResY=180 Decimate=Do not decimate Colors=Do not change colors hue=0 sat=1 bright=0 cont=1 subtitles=Do not use subtitles subtitleFileSize=0 path= Denoise=Do not denoise AssumeFPS=Do not change Here is the mkvinfo.txt: + EBML head |+ Doc type: matroska |+ Doc type version: 1 |+ Doc type read version: 1 + Segment, size 1565476934 |+ Seek head (subentries will be skipped) |+ EbmlVoid (size: 4027) |+ Segment information | + Timecode scale: 1000000 | + Muxing application: libebml v0.7.8 + libmatroska v0.8.1 | + Writing application: mkvmerge v2.4.0 ('Fumbling Towards Ecstasy') built on Nov 7 2008 17:24:23 | + Duration: 3249.856s (00:54:09.856) | + Date: Mon Aug 10 03:45:01 2009 UTC | + Segment UID: 0x5e 0x7c 0xfd 0xa0 0xf2 0x23 0xf4 0xec 0x5b 0xc4 0xf2 0x14 0xa2 0x5b 0xe9 0x0c |+ Segment tracks | + A track | + Track number: 1 | + Track UID: 1 | + Track type: video | + Enabled: 1 | + Default flag: 1 | + Forced flag: 0 | + Lacing flag: 0 | + MinCache: 1 | + Timecode scale: 1 | + Max BlockAddition ID: 0 | + Codec ID: V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC | + Codec decode all: 1 | + CodecPrivate, length 40 | + Default duration: 41.708ms (23.976 fps for a video track) | + Language: eng | + Video track | + Pixel width: 1280 | + Pixel height: 720 | + Interlaced: 0 | + Display width: 16 | + Display height: 9 | + A track | + Track number: 2 | + Track UID: 3250602745 | + Track type: audio | + Enabled: 1 | + Default flag: 1 | + Forced flag: 0 | + Lacing flag: 1 | + MinCache: 0 | + Timecode scale: 1 | + Max BlockAddition ID: 0 | + Codec ID: A_AC3 | + Codec decode all: 1 | + Default duration: 32.000ms (31.250 fps for a video track) | + Language: und | + Audio track | + Sampling frequency: 48000 | + Channels: 2 |+ EbmlVoid (size: 1024) |+ Cluster I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Yes, I know that. But will it, when it rips the movie and processes the subs with bdsup2sub, grab just the FORCED subs and build those in?
Forced subs we need. All the rest of the english subs(for english speaking people) we don't need. Typically I rip with eac3to and then I take all the english subs I ripped and open them in bdsup2sub. It tells you if there are any forced. If there are then you export just the forced and import the idx file into mkvmerge(or build them in the image with ripbot). Then you get just the forced and none of the other subs you don't need. Last edited by archer75; 4th January 2010 at 08:04. |
