try a full uninstall of ffdshow (anything ffdshow in control panel) reboot, delete any ffdshow folder remaining in program files
reinstall it, try again. maybe try the most recent older one as well. is the video xvid? |

if you still have problems you may want to try changing the codecs in ffdshow for xvid to something different
I believe there were other causes to this issue (other than codecs) you may want to try the 'search this thread' for the error and see what else you find |

thanks guys for trying to help me out..
it seems regarding the error that it keeps hanging on "please wait...initializing.." that the solution is this.. first i got tired of installing uninstalling ffdshow haali etc.. so then i thought.. let me try this.. 1. uninstall all the codecs, haali, avisytinh, ffdshow. 2. then i installed kaaza mega codec pack 6 (while instaling i selected full and for xvid instead liba.. i selected xvid 1.3 3. after that i installed avisynth the latest beta version 4. i started up ripbot. opened my .avi file.. selected my ipod profile. added my .sub subtitles. (this time i did not select the option of denoising) 5. i pressed start and it is now passed the please wait..initialization. its encoding the audio!!! yahoo.. now i hope nothing else will go wrong.. but still a few question.. what is normalisation? and what exacly is denoising? because i thought denoising was to remove the little grainy blocky artifacts u sometimes have on video files.. once again thanx.. and if someone else has the same error.. try the steps i took.. cant believe i wasted a whole day to figure this error out! lol |

Googling it led me to change filter from 0,0 to 1,1.
My profile is now: Code:
[MAIN 3.0] Cartoons.txt --level 3.0 --tune animation --aud --nal-hrd vbr --vbv-bufsize 10000 --vbv-maxrate 10000 --filter 1,1 --ref 3 --bframes 3 --b-adapt 1 --b-pyramid none --subme 7 --aq-mode 1 --trellis 2 --partitions p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,p4x4 --no-8x8dct --me umh Left is Source, Middle is no denoise, Right has Anime Denoise on ps - sorry for not using thumbnail, imageshack really annoys me OOPS - the images had filters enabled in mpc-hc, I'll have to try making them again... black blotches
The beginning of the cartoon is a dark grey background. The original is "dirty" with small blocks and a lot of noise.
The encode has huge moving black blocks, in a uniform grey background. I had the same blotches when I tried encoding Batman TAS a few years ago, and I gave up. Is there something I can do about it now? I did not adjust colors for this encode. |

Yeah, I remember that screenshot ...
Nor the first time and even now I didn't understood how can I see that posters... Maybe should I have installed Vista or Win 7 , because On my Win XP SP3 cannot see the posters I just can see these : Confusion in my head regarding this topic is like the beginning .... If you don't define this topic I understand that it is a superfluous issue which not deserve attention.. Thanks anyway for your answer.... |

I'm sure this has been answered, but can't find it in a search of the thread... Just downloaded the latest version and it requires Java. So I downloaded and installed JRE 6u23. Still says I don't have it installed. I rebooted, still says I don't have installed. I tried to install Java again, just to be sure, and it says it's installed, do I want to remove it. It's definitely installed, so why does RB keep saying it's not? How do I get around this so I can run it? THX!!
