Forum 'spammed' again!
It would appear that the forum has been spammed yet again. And if I'm correct, the next load of spam will come from the following, newly registered forum member: bjanescahvsy5511

I've spent around half an hour looking through some of the new forum registrations (by member number). And a lot of the names look very dodgy!
Is anybody checking these new registrations?

Yeah...
I know we had lots of discussions about removing the registration questions to encourage newbies to register so that they wouldn't be scared by questions like "what does DCT stand for?" etc, and although that has been a success in that sense (I've seen a raise in new users willing to learn) it's been a partial one as it has also led to an increase of spam... So... Shall we bring the registration questions back the way they were? What do you think? |

Hmmm...
Does anybody actually check through the new registration names along with their associated IP addresses? For example. A lot of the recent registration names I looked through had names with four numbers at the end. All of which follows the same configurations as our most recent spammers! Logic would dictate that these are future spammers...

Most forums have user first post moderation enabled. That is supported by vBulletin according to a google search so perhaps our admin could implement that. It's working great at DG forum and it's been ages since members saw any spam there. It's the standard way for phpBB forums.
