ripper with quality controls?

is there a ripper that has controls over things like lightness, contrast, saturation et al?

Rippers decrypt the source material without doing anything to that source. The idea is to give you an exact copy of the source minus any encryption. Doing what you want requires a complete reencode. There are plenty of converters that allow you to do those things.

yeah sorry,,,I meant the programs that convert the files, not the ripper

something like pd divx encoder

when i convert the dvd's i intend to watch them on various devices like tablets etc. not only do they not have saturation or contrast controls, i wouldn't want to diddle with them anyway

My 3.08 has in Tools Video Effects a lot more controls than simply Brightness.

And the only compuetr VLC won't work for sure is the Lunar Module of Apollo 11. Joking

AVIsynth and Virtualdub both have extensive filter suites for that sort of thing.
