It works for me (see my signature), but I switched back to dxva2-cb, because there's no black-bar-cropping implemented with it in madvr yet.

D3D11 video decode probably doesn't respect that Optimus setting either, that's why I was suggesting to use copy-back if you want to use the Intel D3D11 decode. I understand if you'd prefer native mode, but does it work with copy-back? Also, QuickSync decoding is a private Intel API and not a DirectX one so I guess it's not impacted by the Optimus setting in NVIDIA control panel either.

Subtitles won't show up.
Using LAVFilters-0.70.2 and nightly build LAVFilters-0.70.2-88 with PotPlayer 1.7.7150.
When playing BD (mpls) or mkv's no subtitles show up. Also using madVR v0.92.10 Perhaps this is a PotPlayer issue? If not are there some settings in LAVFilters I'm missing? With this setting I can view subtitles both embedded BD (PGS) and .srt, I can also load .sup and .srt. https://s17.postimg.org/5eh5lihwv/LAV-_OK.png With this setting there is no way to view any subtitles. I can add them but they doesn't show up. https://s17.postimg.org/n4iu6ldi7/LAV-_NO.png Regards Last edited by varekai; 20th January 2018 at 11:43. |

Isn't the source filter the one responsible for selecting and 'sending' subtitles to the renderer?
In both your screenshots you're using Potplayer's built-in source (BDMV) filter. Is there an option to use LAV source filter instead? Edit: what I mean is, also use LAV's own source filter if you're using its video decoder. Maybe that's where the problem is coming from.

@el Filou
Do you mean the tick at "Use Built-in DXVA Video Decoder? If I disable that there is no change, no subtitles. I'm not shure what you mean "Potplayer's built-in source (BDMV) filter." I can't find that inside PotPlayer. |

Sorry, I mean the 'Built-in HDMV playlist source'.
Maybe that filter and madVR can't agree on a way to exchange subtitle data?

I think maybe you'd find better help asking in a PotPlayer forum, because personally I don't have any problems with PGS subs using LAV and madVR both in MPC-HC and MediaPortal, and that 'Built-in HDMV playlist source' you see in the filter drop down menu is PotPlayer's own.

As I said, MPC-HC built-in Blu-ray playback uses a bundled version of LAV's own splitter to demux streams and manage the subtitles:
https://s9.postimg.org/ni73u0obj/MPC...y_subs_LAV.jpg I don't know what software PotPlayer's own 'Built-in HDMV playlist source' is based on, but maybe it's not "collaborating" with LAV and/or madVR in the same way as LAV's own source filter does. You need to ask PotPlayer's developer. Edit: is there an option in PotPlayer to force it to use an external filter, like this one in MPC: https://s9.postimg.org/bt346i027/image.png ? If yes then try adding LAV splitter source and LAV splitter.

Yes, in PotPlayer you select LAV Splitter (Source) here:
But I don't know if it works for BD if you select MPEG2 TS or if that is extra. Could be that the PotPlayer internal splitter has some custom connection to the PotPlayer video decoder that passes the subtitle. LAV Video does not do that, in the LAV "ecosystem" the splitter is supposed to pass the subtitles to the subtitle renderer (e.g. AssFilterMod or XySubFilter) and that one passes to the video renderer (e.g. madvr). (Except maybe DVD buttons or something...) Best to ask in the PotPlayer forum. Last edited by sneaker_ger; 23rd January 2018 at 15:58. Reason: LAV Splitter -> AssFilterMod -> madvr, not LAV Splitter -> madvr |

Indeed! Its Digital Intermediates were done in 4K too, and I think it's one of the rare movies I would buy a second time on UHD BD.

Last idea: if you click on LAV Splitter in that menu, can you check if you have a "[Out] Subtitle" entry like this: https://s9.postimg.org/cvw4qxb7j/image.png and what next filter it is connecting to? I'm using MPC-HC's internal subtitle renderer so I guess that's what 'TextPassThru' is on my screenshot, but on yours it should probably connect to madVR directly? Or does PotPlayer have an internal sub renderer?

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...45#post1827545 I tried the nightly .88. Unfortunately now I have a picture in the "black-screen-movies" of before but they are now jerky and also those who worked with .83 are jerky too… Went back to .83….. Maybe there is a way to override the “busy” flag of the hardware?.... (samples of working/not working movies are still available for download via PM link I have sent you) |
