In all seriousness, do people actually use video players like MPC to display static images, apart from test cases like comparing renderers' scaling & the like?

Most of image viewers doesn't support HEIC correctly, I thought MPC-HC does!

Updated MPC-HC to 1.9.7.44, but when I install MPC-BE's audio renderer & use it, MPC-HC freezes, what should I do?

Did you try the latest release 1.9.7?
1.9.7.44 is not a release.

Enter a bug on github. Provide the sample media and explain the steps to make it freeze.

You need MPC-HC 1.9.7.44 (or newer) and latest development build of the audio renderer.

MPC-HC 1.9.7.50 broke "Recent Files". The long path contains "***" and files are not played.

Use MPC-BE audio renderer, BE renderers are much better than HC renderers & more pro!

I like to see MPC-BE's renderers to be bundled with MPC-HC.

Screenshot Subtitles

I just updated MPC-HC from 1.9.2 to 1.9.7 and while madVR remained the same at v0.92.17, the screenshots do draw subtitles even though "don't draw subtitles" is checked in madVR. This was working fine in 1.9.2.
