Thanks manolito. Would it continue to properly select the filesystem or will it 'lock' it "ISO9660 + UDF" permanently irrespective of DVD being burnt?

It just sets the DVD file system on startup, nothing gets 'locked'. If you want to burn an XviD AVI it will pop up a window asking you to use the ISO + Joliet file system just like it did before. But on the next start the DVD file system will be active again.

So if you want to burn XviD AVIs most of the time, the new behavior could be a little annoying, because you have to change the file system to ISO + Joliet after every restart of IMGBurn.

Oh thats great. Because when you burn Xvid, you are usually at your desktop :P unlike when doing an encode on A2D! So, your fix is great I'd say! Thanks again.

I have a sync problem with this project.

How do I manage the 2002 msec delay?

Thanks for your help.

A delay this large is certainly an error. Most likely reason are your DirectShow source filters (if you are on Win7 or Win8). Microsoft prevents that other installed filters get used, and the M$ filters are mostly crap.

You should change the preferred DirectShow Filtes to LAV.

Quote by MrC from a VideoHelp post:

you should avoid to have Microsoft DTV-DVD Video and Audio codecs doing the decoding stuff for your video and audio files. Use Win7DSFilterTweaker (or the tool inside AVStoDVD: 'Codecs'/'Preferred DirectShow Codecs Setup') to switch from MS codecs to LAV Filters

Oh....You mean the audio and video are out of sync? If that is the case, I'll try changing codecs tonight! I had one problematic video driving me nuts. I tried like 7-8 times with different settings but the audio kept getting out of sync with the video!
Thanks!

Hi manolito
Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm using all LAV filters - I just checked with FilterTweaker and ran it again to make sure.

I did get a better result (closer sync) when I replaced "VFR" with "true" in /lib/ A2DSource.avsi but I don't want to fiddle with _MrC_'s scripts if I can help it.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi adam933,

your A2D log would be helpful. On Doom9 it always takes a while to get attachments approved, so please post your log directly or upload it to SendSpace or ZippyShare or some other hoster.

Using convertfps = true all the time is a good idea IMO, from my experience this never hurts. (MrC might disagree...)

Personally I use DSS2Mod instead of DirectShowSource all the time for more than half a year, and DSS2 always uses convertfps=true, no way to disable it. And I never had issues with it.

Other things you could try is to use FFMpegSource instead of A2DSource for you video and audio. If your source has AVC video you could also try to repack it into an MKV container before feeding it to AVStoDVD.

The log file (elsewhere) could help a lot.

BTW manolito suggestions, as well as A2D FAQs, are valid.

Doom9 is a little paranoid about attachments, it's a good idea to post text directly and larger stuff via a hosting service.

Thanks for the log file...

Looks OK to me except for the delay for the audio track.

How did you create the MKV? MakeMKV or MKVMerge?

In my experience large delay values like yours appear when the source file has problems at the beginning. Does the file come from a TV capture or from a DVD recorder? Was it a transport stream originally?

If the file was captured from DVB-S or DVB-T you should run it through ProjectX or PVAStrumento to convert it from TS to PS.

And what happens if you just ignore the delay (specify to not correct the delay in the audio settings) ?

Maybe you should cut out a short sample of your source (use DGIndex) and upload it somewhere...

Cheers

Another option you have is to avoid audio re-encoding (it is already a DVD compliant AC3 track).

Very likely the audio delay reported by MediaInfo from your mkv is not reliable.

_MrC_ and manolito,

Thanks for the suggestions; I will try all of them.

Manolito - I have downloaded DSS2 mod + LAVFilters.zip. I already have LAV Filters installed. How do you "install" DSS2 mod ?

The BR title is from a DVD I purchased several years ago, and I used MakeMKV on it.

I'm still working on the clip.

Thanks for your help.

I did it like this:

1. All you need from the DSS2Mod archive is the file "avss.dll" (or avss_26.dll for AviSynth 2.6). Copy the file (only one of them) into your "AviSynth\plugins" folder.

2. Load "A2Dsource.avsi" from the A2D\lib folder into notepad and replace the DirectShowSource part (starts at line 29) with the following:

Quote:
Catch(Err_Msg) {
Try {
SourceStr = "A2DVideoSource: DSS2 mod"
Video = DSS2(VideoSource, fps = FrameRate, preroll = 15) # Set preroll to 100 or higher for interlaced HD .ts or .m2ts files
}

Since you have LAVFilters already installed you can disregard the LAV which comes together with DSS2Mod. (Basically DSS2Mod provides the possibility to use LAVFilters without installing them, but I have never used it this way).

Let me know how it works for you...
