x265 Settings

How to best x265 which program to encode ?

i used staxrip , but not an quality I want is there a source about the settings?


Anyone have a ready template staxrip?

i need internal source & encode quality settings and where do I have to edit configration?

i need this

HDR10+ ,HDR10 ,Dolby Vision : Set Template Configration

I want to source the same quality

Sadly this is not possible. As soon as you reencode an already lossy compressed video you loose quality. Even if you make the second generation much larger it will still be lower quality than the original. This is called generational loss if you want look into it further.

Since you are already running at a fairly slow preset your only significant control over the final quality is the CRF value, turn it down a bit. This will make the file a lot larger too. You can also start tuning parameters for your source, but that is a never ending rabbit hole and it will not allow you to match the source.

Also, StaxRip is not setup for HDR so you need to add a lot of custom stuff. This thread seems useful if you want to look into it, it does get a bit complicated and I don't have a guide for doing this in StaxRip.
