DVD backup problem?

Hi again everyone, lately I've been having a problem backing up my DVDs, all of the ripping programs I was using is now outdated (this includes AnyDVD and DVDdecrypter) I tried a new program called BDlot and it works when creating an ISO file but then I can't extract the files or cut out previews and other things I don't want. Can some one help me find a new program?

AnyDVD is not outdated.
Why didn't you called the support center of the BDlot authors?

Well I could not rip the DVD with AnyDVD installed, and the call to BDlot authors will cost me a small fortune since its an international call and the e-mail is still unanswered. every program I've tried could not rip the newer DVDs in my collection.

Assuming you have a valid license, you need to install the latest version (6.8.7.1 beta) found stickied on SlySoft's forum.

Nope, the smallest HDD I could find is 320 GB (portable 2.5"), as the 3.5" already have reached the 2TB barrier.

What is the title and region of your original, commercial DVD?

You're not getting it, a file that is normally between 5gb and 8gb is now 70gb. that's an enormous waste of space, since my hdd is almost full (my entire dvd collection is on it).

I got it the first place a stupid ripper software fails to see duplicated cells and PGCs and adds them many times to the size of the DVD. Are you sure you have the latest versions of your rippers?

I never met yet the DVD that I couldn't rip with two old tools, like DVDdecrypter, but I don't care about the menus.

Yes I have the latest rippers, I downloaded a bunch of them to try and rip this one and so far only BDlot was able to rip it (well at least it ripped the ISO), so now I have the problem of extracting the files.

So you have the ISO (less than 70GB in size ) but you can't use it?

Yes I can use the ISO but everything except for the movie and menus are "scrambled" and I can't skip the scrambled bits, also I usually cut out stuff I don't want with VOBblanker and then shrink it with DVDshrink but with the ISO the way it is I can't do that.

@aether

Use your original, commercial disc as source (instead of the .ISO image file) and use DVDFab to rip "Movie only"...

DVDFab reads multiple main movies it will take hours to to go through them all and select the right one, and I would like to keep the menus and extras.

From the following link at the DVDFab website:

http://www.dvdfab.com/news/36

Quote:
DVDFab 8.1.2.5 Qt also added support for many movies. DVD Copy now can support new copy protections as found on "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (US), and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (Germany), and Blu-ray Copy can deal with new BD+ protections on "Star Wars" (all countries), so that users can get smooth backup experience for these new movies.
Instead of rejecting suggestions out of hand, try them.

It sounds like you should be able to make a full disc backup and/or a movie-only backup in a NORMAL amount of time.

Try watching the DVD in a standalone player (or software player).
When the movie is playing, you can see what title number is being played (usually via a button on the remote control).
That title number is the one you then select in your copying program.

@setarip_old I'm not rejecting suggestions, I've already tried them. As for the amount of time - I was referring to the time it would take to preview movie titles in order to find the right one.
@mike20021969 thanks, I got the title number but for some reason the DVD still won't copy, I'll give it another try when I get back from work.

Ripping a title number will only give you a "movie only" backup...

Have you tried, as I suggested previously, DVDFab 8.1.2.5 Qt , specifically?
