Hi dean. I enconde a movie in mpeg2 for blu-ray and a avc. The movie was The lord of the rings 1. The image in avc was much better than in mpeg. I have a projector panasonic pt ae4000, its a excelente projector, and i test this file in 112" (AR 2.40). The avc file was very best than mpeg.
If you need help with language-translation (english x portuguese-Brazil), i can help. Thanks Clayton |

If I can remember well, in earlier versions (3.0) this was possible. Last edited by flaviometal; 26th March 2010 at 03:16. |

deank,
Quick question. Does the output "TV System" under the General section of the Author tab have any affect when dealing with HD to SD-DVD conversions? Edit: Question number 2!: What would you recommend for a user to do when converting to from HD to SD-DVD when the main movie is split up over multiple files? (ex: 01.m2ts and 02.m2ts contain the main movie) Should I load up the sources using the "AVCHD / BDMV / DVD folders" import, or is there an even easier way of doing it without having to remove all of the unnecessary playlists after import? Yeah, I thought about that, but I wondered if there was a way to do it purely in multiAVCHD. The reason is that I'm writing up a tutorial on encoding Blu-ray material to DVD and I want the reader to be able to handle pretty much any content through the main program.
If there is not an easy way, then oh well. In addition, I know that this splitting happens a lot with HD-DVD's, which I'm not sure if tsmuxer can handle. I do know that multiAVCHD handles HD-DVD's so I was wondering if it was possible to automatically join main movie files. Edit: Okay, well another attempt at converting Inglorious Bastards Blu-ray to DVD has failed. Here are the logs. Quote:

2) You can load the playlist (.mpls file) for the movie in multiAVCHD just like you do it in tsMuxeR. Dean |

Dean, I have another problem: I'm trying to convert a PAL video (MKV) with external SRT subs to play on my NTSC PS3. Here my results:
- Select NTSC in Author Tab (Tv System): MAVCHD keeps warning me that the video is PAL and after conversion, DVD doesn't works on my PS3; - Select PAL 24 in Author Tab (TV System): The conversion works, DVD play on PS3, but only menu works, and when a try to play the video or select a chapter, goes back to top menu; - Select PAL in Author Tab (TV System): conversion works, but doesn't play on my PS3; And if I change the FPS in video properties (Alter Detected Properties button), the subs keeps out of sync. Just to remember, on my PC, DVD works well with PowerDVD 9 (using PAL24). How do I proceed? |

Few new things in the latest 741+ update:
* Fixed: Hard-burning subtitles during transcoding didn't work with external VOBSUB (sub+idx) subtitles. Now all ok. * Added: If you import .m2v file for SD-DVD processing and mark it as [x] SD Compliant, multiAVCHD will still check it if it is 29.97. If not it will apply pull-down to get it to 29.970 fps * Added: Something I wanted to do for long time now: In title properties / Audio tab / [add] external audio button will allow you to add VIDEO files, too. multiAVCHD will try to use all audio tracks from: AVI, MKV, M2TS/MTS, TS, MPEG/MPG. The functionality is similar to tsMuxeR ability to add streams from different files/containers. * Added: in case of SD-DVD mux failure, muxman log will be printed in the LOG box. Dean |

Yeah, I just thought it was curious that eac3to was erroring out because of this:

Ah! Fantastic then! I'll try it when I get home tonight! 3rd times the charm!
In the mean time, I plan on having the HD->SD-DVD guide up by tonight, so I'll have you go over it before I finalize and post it. |

If you want to do some tests, set [CUT END] in title properties to 300 (seconds). That way you'll know if it will work, without waiting few more hours.
You can also reuse the .m2v if you wish and add the audio from the m2ts file of the bluray (if it is non-branched). Dean |
