remove internet connect icon from menu bar

I just installed a router with a 4port ethernet switch for my powermac G4 , pismo and my girlfriend's pc so they can share the same dsl connection. On my powermac, there's an icon in the taskbar for "internet connect". I cannot remove it : it bothers me since I don't use a regular modem (my powermac is a bto without modem) and I don't want it in my taskbar (I already removed the ethernet connect icon since i don't have to connect every time anymore with the router). So how can I do it ? Already checked the help files, but I found nothing. Can I remove the application "internet connect" or do I still need it ?
