@cwh060: Quote:I have the Hauppage HD-PVR and I record my college football games on it to PC. It records in H.264 in .ts format. I use H264Cutter to cut commercials and then burn the recordings to AVCHD format using MULTIAVCHD.
I also use HD-PVR 1212 and I just use the TotalMedia Extreme program to cut the commercials out and then save each trimmed m2ts file and use multiAVCHD to compile them into a disk and create a simple menu for each episode. I don't have any audio sync problems, but I am copying HBO shows and only cutting the beginning and endings mostly. I think that if any cutter trims the frame headers improperly it changes the runtimes and causes audio sync problem, imo. You may want to try the TotalMedia Extreme program to cut the commercials and see if it does a better job. seeya worknstiff |

@worknstiff, thanks. I do not have sync problems with my set up. I prefer the Videoredo and Comskip combination, it's pretty much automatic. TME is just too much work. It's Razrback16 with the sync issues.
@Razrback16, you'll find the fps on Detected properties. Use Mediainfo to tell what the source is. Make sure you are using NTSC found in the author tab of Multi |

in this context: there is a free program "HDTVtoMPEG2", which makes cutting of TS-files very simple and fast. Therefore I like it better than other similar tools no matter how comfortable those might be.
Output can be chosen as Transport Stream, HiDTV or Mpeg. Unwanted parts can be marked with "cut" and "exclude", to avoid cutting into several clips press 2x (!) the "Clips" button (box gets blind). http://www.videohelp.com/tools/HDTVtoMPEG2 Last edited by strad; 10th October 2010 at 13:20. |

Hey there Dean!
While writing my latest tutorial on combining multiple DVD's into one Blu-ray (here), I encountered some issues. 1) There appears to be no subtitles in the output. Looking at the log I see the warnings, but I don't know why they are happening. I have Java installed and I can run BDsup2sub by hand. 2) All of the thumbnails are black in the resulting Blu-ray menu. Neither the title thumbnail nor the chapter thumbnails have any substance to them. They are all black. Log: http://www.sabayon.org/pastie/4937 |

Or multiAVCHD forcibly reencodes anything to H.264? |

I've done the conversion in two ways, one which is shown in my guide.
The other was just loading up the two title sets for the DVD's and hitting the start button. The first one I did a full workup with x264 transcode and everything, just to be complete. However, you do have a point in that unless you are piling over 5 movies or so onto a BD25, you don't need compression. In the second way, it appears that multiAVCHD just kept the original streams as best it could. I guess my question then would be, if we click on a title in the compilation menu, remove some audio tracks, maybe edit the Title name, and DONT click on the "Transcode" button, will multiAVCHD still keep the DVD MPEG2? Is the only thing that activates the conversion to x264 the pressing of the "Transcode" button? |

Okay, here is what I get when running the following command as generated by multiAVCHD during the subtitle extraction / conversion phase.

Hi deank, I've been away for awhile. Nice updates btw.
I'm having some trouble with the customer x264 inputs. Does it require just the part you want to change/add or a complete script? I tried with a complete script and it gave an error on transcode at the end of the second pass. Can you give and example of what it should look like? Also I see where you can use an Avisynth customer script for the menu but can I use a customer script for the main movie aswell? |

Not sure, I haven't had time to test it. I believe that MeGUI uses a version of it, and I think HDConvertToX uses something similar as well.
I'm pretty sure Vobsub Ripper support command line. I'm on my MacBook Pro, so I can't confirm right now. Edit: Aha! HDconvertToX uses VSrip (AKA VobSub Ripper). FreeCodecs has it here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/VobSub_Ripper.htm Last edited by Adub; 25th October 2010 at 07:17. |

I discovered something interesting with the Sony BDP-S370 (and probably concerning other Sony models) : it can play AVCHD on USB key !
With MultiAVCHD, we have to choose Sony PS3 in the solid media part. The folder has to be named AVCHD and placed at the root of the USB key. @ Deank : you could maybe add "and some Sony players" beside "PS3" in this part ? |
