Decrypting Protected WMA Using DRMv1PM.lic
Hello,
-Is it possible to use DRMv1PM.lic file found on root of portable player (WMP creates this when syncing songs onto it) to decrypt/losslessly convert DRM'ed-WMA into DRM-free WMA? From what I understand freeme2 and FairUse4WM could convert/decrypt DRMv2 only. So, what software could I use? I'm assuming the sync'ed WMA files are in DRMv1 because the key file is named DRMv1PM.lic. Thank you. |

-Never mind, I figured out how to decrypt and strip out DRM from my WMA files: just use old version of drmdbg (no need to individualize!) and latest available drm2wmv.
-The only (minor) annoyance is need to play the WMA file, get SID, run drm2wmv to get KID, put together in a *.key file, run drm2wmv again to decrypt it. Then repeat for each file (for all WMA files you want to strip DRM out of it). -But I'm sure using FreeMe2 in place of drm2wmv will reduce the steps (will do later). Regards. |
