Are you sure that you sound card support up to 384k ?? What audio-rendered use ?? How you detect downsampled to 192k ??

dsd64/128 - already supported long time ago.

both mpc.hc and mpc-be doesn't work with 384 khz as a shared sample rate.

the terrible creative AE-5 supports up to 32 bit 384khz i have one here.

just to make that clear 32 bit works fine.

If sound card support 384 - it's must working with internal MPC Audio Renderer.
What audio-renderer use ??

i don't have a 384khz file here so i can't test exclusive.
but MPC Audio Renderer in shared mode works.

the default "directsound: system default" doesn't work.

and foobar doesn't really work too: Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x88880001)
i guess both have the same error but mpc-be doesn't show it.

vlc can show blu ray menu but it runs very unstable with it.
sometimes you cannot select anything.

is a blu ray menu so different from dvd menu ?

i use a yamaha mcr 870d with built in usb dac
ESS SABRE 32 ES9010.
(supports 32 bit 384k pcm and up to 128 dsd)
it will show incoming frequency in display.

i use mpc audio renderer with wasapi exclusive mode

mpc be plays 44,1, 48, 96, 192 all fine
but everything above 192 will be downsampled to 192k

here some free test flacs
https://www.24bit96.de/downloads/fla...nen-laden.html

dsd64/128 is supported , but not native
mpc be converts dsd to pcm with 192k
(when i play the files with mpc be my usb dac receives pcm with 192k and not dsd with 2.8 / 5.6 mhz)

foobar2k with sacd plugin sends the data native to my usb dac in dsd format.

here some free dsd test files
http://www.2l.no/hires/

I don't have sound card with 384 support, but i know that audio-data input to MPC Audio Renderer untouch:

and output at maximum possible quality.

About dsd - we using ffmpeg and it convert to PCM. I don't have hardware with dsd support(if somebody interesting - can sponsored for buying).

Shared mode using current system's audio settings.
Use wasapi exclusive for maximum quality.

mpc audio renderer in exclusive mode is down sampling to 192khz. shared is working at 384khz.

EDIT: here some screens:
https://abload.de/img/exclusivepai2j.png
https://abload.de/img/sharedf3fxw.png

the 384khz test file are wrongly labelled too it is clearly 16 bit not 24 as the name says.

they couldn't be more different and for VD we have a native menu thanks to windows natively supporting it.

the PCM is fine that's not really any worse if done correctly. you can read more about this on jriver page they have a nice write up about this topic but i can't remember if it was lossless.

guess nobody will hear a difference between 44,1k or higher rates (same for cd vs sacd)
but i think its best to play files in org format

hope this can be fixed.

yep most soundcards / usb dacs cannot read dsd data
only pcm
even if you cannot hear a difference sacd iso support would be nice (even when its only converted to pcm)
just to be able to play them.

if mpc be would support sacd isos there is no need to use foobar2k anylonger

some "pay" players like dvd fab media player have probs with blu ray menus, and power dvd...
well it can play blu rays and dvds but for everything else its not good.

mpc be is the perfect player
fast, stable and very good codec support for video and audio.

here the log file

https://www73.zippyshare.com/v/Tyg4Rxj2/file.html

still played at 192k

foobar2k uses external sacd plugin
may be its posisble to use this code to read sacd file structure ?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sacddecoder/
(the guy stopped working on it, may be he is ok if you use the code for mpc)

about audio playback i have a small question:
when i open a cue file and play a full album
in the seekbar of mpc be the full flac file is shown
like one big track.
makes it hard to seek inside a single song.

would help if there would be small chapter lines in seekbar to see start and end of each song in seekbar:

seekbar looks like this now:

-------------------------------

would be good when you open cue file with full cd to make seekbar look like this:

------|------|---|-------|-----|

hope you know what i mean

If open cue with single file - chapters show(if enable in options). If open cue with multiple files - it's(files) add to playlist.

About 384Khz - another test build https://yadi.sk/d/owJCdSgf2VaCzg

here the new log file
still 192k

https://www111.zippyshare.com/v/f9GIzGwl/file.html

when i look into log file seems that supported output formats of my audio device are not properly found by mpc be
only 192k supported

i tested again with foobar2k with asio, wasapi and with sacd plugin with asio output
foobar2k works with all 3 outputs with 352k and 384k
i use latest yamaha usb driver

WASAPI Audio renderer using IAudioClient::IsFormatSupported() to detect supported format list. Audio drives(or system) don't tell about 384Khz. Try uncheck "Use system layout channels".

thats it, its working now with 352k and 384k
even with normal build 4105

edit: but dsd files making problems with that setting

dsd64 with 2.8 mhz is converted to pcm 352800 hz, plays ok
dsd128 with 5.6 mhz is converted to pcm 705600 hz !

that is not supported by my usb dac, max is 384k.
display of my yamaha shows "705600 hz" but its not suported so it sounds distorted with lots of noise.

If it's show "705600 hz" - it means it supports input such parameters.

official it supports only 384k pcm
and dsd up to 5.6 mhz (so i hope my ess chip doesnt get damaged trying to play pcm higher than 384k)

it sounds terrible with 705600 hz pcm

https://europe.yamaha.com/en/product...70d/index.html

DSD 5.6MHz native and PCM 384kHz compatible high grade USB DAC function

Built into the unit is an exceptionally high-grade USB DAC which can reproduce high-resolution sound sources with all their original quality. It is compatible with native playback of the DSD 5.6MHz (DSD128) format or 384kHz/32-bit playback which records music information with extraordinary detail by sampling up to a massive 5,644,800 times per second. The D/A converter is the 32-bit/2-channel specification, high-performance SABRE 32 (ES9010K2M) from the U.S. company, ESS Technology, and its USB device controller IC is the latest product from XMOS, the semiconductor firm. By restricting shutter noise through asynchronous transference, this delivers pure reproduction and optimum sonic quality.

nice device and has a very good headphone amp with enough power to run 600 ohm hifi headphones
also good if you watch movies and play pc games (no probs so far, but only in stereo)
and with cd drive and usb port you can listen to music without using pc.
