candyman_09 : DTS=0 just means DTS tracks are not reencoded to AC3.

chompy : You right, adding AUDIO_AMPLIFY=1 only prevent to make any level modification to audio track. However, the amplification is still processed (as 100%) and I already point this out to jdobbs. Having said that, this task is not a reencode but more a sound process and should not really produce any degradation.

Error with "Other Movie-Only Output"

I'm trying to code my first rip for the iPad. I get the same error if I choose LPCM audio or AC3 audio. I selected iPad MP4 HD as the alternate output. Thanks.

wensteph : First you should update BD Rebuilder to the last beta version 0.33.06, most of all for an iPad output. After updated and tested again, if it fails, go to your BD Rebuilder folder, run inspect.exe and post the result here.

I don't agree with you, every time you compress something from a compressed format you'll always lose something: MP3 -> WAV -> MP3 (the second will be worse even if it's reencoded at a higher bitrate), JPEG -> TIFF -> JPEG (the second will be worse even if it's saved with less compression)... And I think this can also be applied to AC3 -> WAV -> AC3

Hello .. a doubt about "audio" ..

I mostly do 50 BLU to 25 BLU fullbackup..so if a BLURAY, has DTS ENGLISH and DTS ENGLISH SPANISH .
it is posible to leave the ENGLISH track of DTS and just reencode the SPANISH track to 5.1??

since by the choices you can leave both tracks (dts) untouched or reencode both in 5.1...

any help is welcome!

ps: sorry for my english!!

chompy : Of course it should be the logical mind, however I will not too much enter into advanced technical purposes, but the Dolby compression is a specific acoustic compression algorithm that when decoded, raw processed, reencoded don't really impact the audio PSNR. At a same bitrate, most of the global informations are lost at the first encode. As when you do a high quality reencode of your Blu Ray to AVC at the same bitrate. However I have the same quality concern as you and I already suggested jdobbs to remove this process when the amplification is set to 1.

EDUDE : Unfortunately it is not possible. If you do a 25GB backup, one more DTS track should not too much impact your image quality. Otherwise, if you have time to waste and are motivate, the only trick I see for you is to manually demux the main movie, reencode the spanish track, remux, reeinject this to your BD structure and open BB Rrebuilder to finish the job (or begin it, following your point of view! ).

i did Toy Story to 25gb bdr and it encoded the wrong audio so when im playing it hear the directors in the background, never had this happen before, how do i know which one when i select it, is going to be the right english audio, cause it normally always picks the first english audio and there are Red X's on the foreign languages and other audios?

Evening guys. I am having an issue backing up Gran Torino. I am using AnyDVD HD (6.6.4.2 - latest version) to back it up. Also using BD Rebuilder v0.33.06, to back it up to BD-5, encoder settings to Highest quality. The process runs to success, with no errors. The problem lies when it crosses over to chapter 19, the audio/video goes out of sync. I confirmed that the backup itself does not have this issue. I've even re-encoded it twice, and still having the same issue. Would someone be so kind as to tell me what's gone wrong? It's been working perfectly backing up many disks over the course of the past month or so (other than Sin City, that is) and I'd like to get this figured out. Thanks very much!

kanerulz69 : Can you give us an exhaustive list of all the audio tracks, and the one that are disabled on it. Can you also paste here the .INF file you will normally find in your reencoded BD folder.

PeteWalker74 : Can you please still post the log here, I will check something from it.

Thanks bud. The problem is I closed BD after it completed, so I don't know where I could retrieve that log from. If you could advise, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I'll run it again and post a log.

Same Other Movie Only error

Updated to 33.06 and got the same error. Tried a different movie with the same result.

Ran Inspect and get an OK for everything except Rebuilder. I searched and all posts I found with Inspect results showed BD-RB OK.

- Windows Version: 6.1 [7600]
- AVISYNTH Version: 2.5.7.0, Ok
- HAALI Splitter: Ok
- FFDSHOW: 3133, Ok
- WIN7 preferred AVC CODEC: Ok
- WIN7 preferred VC-1 CODEC: Ok
- WIN7 preferred MPEG2 CODEC: Ok
- FFDSHOW VC-1 set to "wmv9", Ok
- FFDSHOW MPEG2 set to "libavcodec": Ok
- FFDSHOW AVC set to "libavcodec": Ok
- BD-RB v0.33.0.6, not current

Suggestions?

Update. Good call, SoniG. I had BD-RB open when I installed the update. I trashed the BD-RB folder and upzipped everything new to there. Other Movie Only output coded fine. I have not tried to copy it into the iTunes library yet.
Note to jdobbs if you are following this thread just in case it may make some difference. I could still get a good rebuild on a "normal" movie only rebuild. Whatever issues I had only came up with the Other Movie Only output.

kanerulz69 : Your log is too long, please edit your post in deleting the log and attach it as a .txt file. Please also give me the audio tracks (enabled and disabled) of the main movie listed on BD Rebuilder.

wensteph : It's not logical BD Rebuilder version is not good, I suspect you to have unzipped the new version while BD Rebuilder was still running. Please close all, and even delete your old BDRB folder and unzip the new one. Your inspect.exe log seems to not be complete, where is the 'FAAC: Ok' line for example?

question about movie only rebuild

I'm new to this forum but I have a question about the movie only backup. I've backed up several discs using the movie only option without reencoding bc they can fit on a bd25. However, I noticed that when I played these backups on my sony 450 and I hit the display button it shows an output of 1080p/60. When I put the original disc in it shows 1080p/24. Does the rebuilder change it from 24 to 60? Or am I just trippin out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If there is no reencoding, BD-RB does not change anything.
You could check the settings on your Sony, I believe there is an auto detect ( or something like that ), or set it to play back 1080P/24 as default. My S360 works fine with auto detect, but my older BX1 needed the setting changed to play back 1080/24.
