What sampling rates does A/52 (AC-3) support?

By looking at the specs, it seems only 48.0, 44.1 and 32.0 kHz are covered.

However Aften seems to accept 24.0 and 16.0 kHz input just fine. And it doesn't re-sample internally, MPlayer plays the resulting A/52 files at 24.0/16.0 kHz (using ffac3 decoder).

At the same time MediaInfo doesn't recognize these A/52 files at all! So is this some kind of "out of specs" extension or what?

I believe it's using the DolbyNet extensions which added support for those sample rates.

Thanks for the info. Indeed there's some reference to "DolbyNet" in the Aften code.
