For me, file searched on second phase exists during the encoding process and it seems to be renamed after encoding finish...
And an other thing, all .stats files are auto deleted but the last .stats file isn't deleted. And this file is encoded but original .264 is also present in the directory and the size of original .264 is lower than .264 encoded...

The 3D discussion had pulled the thread way off topic -- so I've moved it to a thread of its own.

@Darth_Emma and others

I found the cause of the "file not found" error during rebuild and have fixed it for the next release.

Failed to reencode audio, aborted

I met with the following problem in BD-RB:

----------------------
[11.08.13] BD Rebuilder v0.44.17 (beta)
[18:20:40] Source: JACK_THE_GIANT_SLAYER_00100
- Input BD size: 27,09 GB
- Approximate total content: [01:54:08.883]
- Target BD size: 7,32 GB
- Windows Version: 6.1 [7601]
- MOVIE-ONLY mode enabled
- Quality: Good (Very Fast), Two Pass
- Decoding/Frame serving: X264/LAVF
- Audio Settings: AC3=0 DTS=0 HD=1 Kbs=640
[18:20:40] PHASE ONE, Encoding
- [18:20:40] Processing: VID_00085 (1 of 1)
- [18:20:40] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00085]
- [18:29:38] Reencoding video [VID_00085]
- Source Video: MPEG-4 (AVC), 1920x1080
- Rate/Length: 23,976fps, 164*209 frames
- Bitrate: 6*769 Kbs
- [18:29:38] Reencoding: VID_00085, Pass 1 of 2
- [18:54:11] Reencoding: VID_00085, Pass 2 of 2
- [19:18:57] Video Encode complete
- [19:18:57] Processing audio tracks
- Track 4352 (eng): Reencoding audio to AC3...
- [19:18:57] Processing audio tracks
- Track 4352 (eng): Reencoding audio to AC3...
- [19:18:57] ReencodeAudio() 00070 1801
[19:20:14] - Failed to reencode audio, aborted

I do not really understand because I marked the following options in the setup window which can affect on audio reencoding:

- Do not convert DTS to AC3;
- Do not reencode AC3;
- Keep HD Audio for BD25;

The other two options were unmarked.

Please advise.

I have made a new test (but I have seen you have found the bug). I have choose 47 GB output (instead of 25GB) and I have launch backup with same settings. All is working (it's logical, there is no encode) but strange result is final ISO file fit into a BD25 without reencode

Error 70 is "Permission Denied". It could be that you don't have rights to the output folder, a file is locked by another process, you don't have rights to the file, and a couple of other circumstances. Bottom line is that it is related to rights.

I'm guessing the source is DTS and you're outputting to AVCHD. In that case the flags don't matter, because AVCHD doesn't accept DTS (it isn't part of the AVCHD standard). You might try unclicking "Strict AVCHD" in SETUP.

Thank you. I will look for the new release and use that when you make it available.

choosing which VID to encode problem

I would like to know what is the basis of choosing between the VIDS to reencode when switching from one output option to the other in case of full backup mode? BD-rebuilder chooses by itself specific VIDS to reencode based on the given capacity on which to store. The VIDS which are not going to be reencoded will remain intact (supposed to be). I would just like to know the process "behind the curtain". I am asking it because it seems to me that it doesn't really depend on the size of the VIDS, there must be something else, too I think. For example if I switch the target size from BD-5 to BD-25 a lot of big sized VIDS are going to be left intact, but some with similar or even smaller sizes are about to be reencoded. Please advise.

Look in the HIDDENOPTS.TXT file for MIN_M2TS_SIZE. The only other determining factor would be whether or not the file is determined to be a menu.

Ok, but it is still not clear, sorry. I have a VID with the size of 465 Mbyte for example, and I am in the output mode of BD-5, the program "wants" to reencode it, but if I simply switch to BD-25 mode the program ends up with the VID not located in the list anymore to be reencoded. It is not a menu and the size is above 100Mbyte, so there must be some other determining factor skipped.

BD Rebuilder v0.45.03 (beta)

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the most recent release of BD-RB (v0.45.03). Note: This release has a LOT of changes and new code related to the way importing and Quick-Play reauthoring works. I ask that beta testers please concentrate on these features and post any issues you find. One other note - remember that an import or Quick-Play reauthored disc that only has one item does NOT create a menu, so it will be very much like a movie-only disc. At least two playlists have to match the import criteria (minimum threshold) to be included and invoke the need for a menu.

Changes for this release:
Code:
- Made major changes to how the Quick-Play
  reauthoring mechanism works. Implemented an
interactive menu to the reauthored output.
Now you can browse and select from multiple
titles on Quick-Play reauthored discs. This
feature applies also to all imported titles
(DVD, Videofile, and BD). This feature is
  especially useful for combining and
reencoding multiple BD or DVD series discs
into a single BD-25 or BD-50. It is also
nice for creating a disc backup that comes
  up-and-running without annoying leader and
  sales information.
- Added significant new editing capabilities
associated with Quick-Play menu items. The
features include a dialog for viewing and/or
modifying title information for imports and
  Quick-Play reauthored discs.
- Improved the algorithm for finding duplicate
playlists during import of multiple BDs via
  Quick-Play reauthoring.
- Changed the MP4BOX temporary folder setting
to use the specified working folder rather
  than the system default.
- Made a correction to the code related to
  the hidden option FORCED_SUB_LANG. The
option wasn't working as designed in
v0.44.17. Also modified it so you can add
more than one language separated using a
semicolon. The languages are prioritized as
  entered from left to right.
- Added a new hidden option REMOVE_IMPORT. If
set, BD-RB will remove the folder used for
import after the reencoding is successfully
completed. As with any auto-removal feature
you should be very careful in its use.
- Added a multiple BD import feature. Similar
to the DVD import function, if multiple BDs
are grouped together under a single selected
source folder, BD-RB gives you the option
of importing them as one (combining with the
  Quick-Play reauthoring format). Please note
that the output to the IMPORT folder can be
very large (equal to all the combined source
  BD folders).
- Improved the algorithm for determining title
playback order during IMPORT of DVDs or BDs.
- Added BD-50 as a selectable target size in
the OUTPUT OPTIONS menu. This should be of
particular use when creating collections via
  the IMPORT functions.
- Removed DVD_IMPORT_THRESHOLD from the hidden
options. It was renamed to IMPORT_THRESHOLD,
now applies to both DVD imports and BD
imports, and is set via dialong.
- Added new option MENU_AUTO_BACKGROUND. This
setting is currently experimental to some
degree. When set to "1" (the default) it
will tell BD-RB to attempt to find and
utilize a menu background & audio track from
the source disc when doing an import or
  Quick-Play encode. Set via dialog.
- Made "zlib" compression the default for MKV
output to better comply with the Matroska
standard. Also added a new hidden option
"USE_ZLIB" that is documented in the
HIDDENOPTS.TXT file. Setting this option to
"0" disables zlib compression (for the few
players that may not support it).
- Corrected an issue in which an out-of-place
secondary audio stream could cause the PIDs
to be incorrectly updated in the MPLS file
  during a full backup.
- Corrected an error in which LPCM sources in
  DVDs were not being imported.
- Added code that will shorten the amount of
time used to scan sources on movie-only
backups -- especially in situations where the
number of M2TS files is large.
- Fixed an error that could result in failed
rebuild due to missing .264 file on certain
multipart sources being encoded in movie-only
  mode.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to
  the latest release (r2377).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE
  to the latest release (r2377).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I just noticed there is a bug I caused recently in the BD import function that results in "Runtime Error 9, Subscript out of Range" -- ugghhh... after two weeks of testing I cause an error in the last couple of changes.

Anyway, I'll find it, fix it, and post another version in the next hour or so.

[Edit] Ok, it's fixed and has been uploaded -- the first post has also been updated. I've also fixed it so any attempts to download v0.45.02 from the jdobbs site will actually get v0.45.03 as well.

Boy, that looks like it was a lot of work! Thanks, again, JD, for keeping this app going - much appreciated. Without a doubt I'll be making my usual Christmas donation

It was definitely a lot of work. The reauthoring mechanism turned out to be a much bigger project than I anticipated.

I appreciate your support.

MKV vbv buffer/maxrate settings

The max bitrate would make a difference only in the most complex picture elements (assuming it is reasonable) -- and that would apply to both methods.

MKV vbv buffer/maxrate settings will be available in the next release. Be careful, though, you don't want to set the max bitrate too high. I used the 30Mbs value because it can be supported within the limitations of a blu-ray disc (e.g. storing MKVs on a BD-R). You'd likely have to increase resolution beyond 1080p to need more than that.
Is it possible to set vbv buffer/maxrate (2-pass MKV) in v0.45.0.3?
I can't find it the hidden options.

Import DVD(s)----Default menu works perfectly. Edited menu seems to hang. Must state that I am using TMT 6 to test. Doing encode with default menu now.

Testing multi-disc import in Quick-Play mode right now, and there's one thing I sorely miss: the option of forcing a subtitle track on, as in Movie-only mode. Discs have two English sub tracks on them, with different contents, and I'm guessing FORCED_SUB_LANG option is unable to decide which one to force on.
