You may try this one:

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...VDSubextractor

it's not updated anymore but still works fine for DVD.

Or SubtitleEdit (now in Version 3.5.16.)

File -> Import/OCR subtitle from VOB/IFO DVD -> choose your .ifo.
Download Tesseract 5.02 (automated), download your language pack (automated).

Just went through one of my fresh MaestroSBT+Muxman-authored DVDs
containing subs in german slang language and older german spellings not found in recent, proper dictionaries.

It was a whizz, just for fun OCR'ing 100 subtitles of 1675 through in less than 3 minutes,
confirming at least 25 of those exemptions which were OCR'ed correctly
with just 1 button into the virgin user dictionary.
Had to correct only a few, and this took only 2 seconds each...

Many thanks to Nikse, a huge work !

You can try https://subtitle.one
It does the OCR within the browser.
It's free and there's no daily limit. You can convert three subtitles at a time.
Any issue let me know via contact page.
