MPC HomeCinema as default player

I have MPC HomeCinema setup as my default player. Everything works fine. However, if I have a dvd in any drive, and I double-click on the icon from "My Computer", Windows Media Player still attempts to play the disc.

If I have MPC HomeCinema setup as my default player shouldn't this be covered as well?

It can be done:
- open options. (press O)
Player>Formats window:

Here you can check what MPC is used for.
Also Autoplay DVD can be checked.

I already have it setup to play ALL video formats and I have ffdshow setup in case any formats are not supported by MPC's built-in codecs.

I am referring to when you actually double-click the DVD drive icon within My Computer. No matter what I do it always tries to open the disc with Windows Media Player, but only this way. All other ways MPC HomeCinema works as the default player.

It's probably some Windows auto run setting rather than assigning a program to a file type. I always disable auto run completely.

On Windows 7 you might need to look in control panel >> AutoPlay
