MeGUI - video output pixelated
Hello everyone!
I was wondering if there was a way to re-encode anime to a smaller file size (80mb perhaps? / 400-500 bitrate?) without the output being pixelated? In my output the pixelation is very noticeable specially on: • Dark Scenes • Raining/Foggy Scenes • Fast motion scenes (sometimes) • Dark colored parts Here is an example: (there are much worse scenes than these) I've seen many animes from various encoders whose outputs are not pixelated at all but just a bit of blur (not really noticeable) and the filesize is around 60-80mb! is there a trick behind this? I'm using MeGUI by the way and here are my encoder settings preset: Video Encoder Settings: x264: DXVA HD-Anime_Toons HQ Audio Encoder Settings: Nero AAC: NDAAC-HEPS-32kbps Last edited by Saizen; 2nd October 2013 at 00:28. No. Ok, I don't like the idea at all. Why would you do this?
Make sure you start with your original DVD, bluray, or TV capture; recompressing an already compressed source will give lower quality. I assume by "pixelation" you mean macroblocking not a bad resize or some other type of pixelation? There are all sorts of ways to get it looking different, most involving Avisynth. Have you tried playing with the --nr option in x264? Also resizing to a lower resolution helps with lower bitrates. |
