In order to make working File Indexer with LSmash you have to copy the dll msvcr120.dll (located in Megui/tools/lsmash) in C:\Windows\system32

There isn't an error in the log. Please describe the problem.

FFMS has some quirks e.g. you have to use threads=1 otherwise it may crash. Someone else may explain other advantages. I see it as an alternative to ffms.

This is not a good idea at all... Unless you really know what you are doing you shouldn't mess around with the Windows folder at all.

Instead, do a proper install of the full C++ Redistributable package: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=40784

Are you sure that this is the problem? In my virtual machines (XP, W7) I do not have msvcr120.dll in any windows folder. When I delete it from the tools\lsmash folder I get the error - and that's the good point. I am now able to see that there is no error at all in the log. Only a failed job.
EDIT: And please try to copy the file to the root folder of MeGUI (and restart MeGUI). If this solves your problem I can handle it. But I do not plan to write any files into the windows folder.

I've included 2 profiles:

1) OneClick_dp_ 25fps: uses sar 1:1. That one is fine other than the double DAR report in mediainfo. I get that also when using x264 in cmd without the import avs. Doesn't seem like an issue. I think it's a mediainfo quirk that has something to do with the resolution mod.

2) OneClick_dp_ 25fps-no.SAR: uses default sar setting (sar 0:0 I think is the x264 default). shows the custom pixel shape.

I think the reason is the darx/y arguments in the import avs file that megui generates:
global MeGUI_darx = 16
global MeGUI_dary = 9

that's 1.7777777, while 718,404 is 1.7772277. 1.0003094 difference, which is pretty much what avinaptic reports: Custom pixel shape (3232:3231 = 1.00031)

The error is tiny but it might distort display a little bit. It's avoided by either using sar 1:1 or by not using darx/y.

I installed Visual C++ 2013 redistributable to get msvcr120.dll into System32 folder. I also copied msvcr120.dll from lsmash folder into MeGUI root folder but it doesn't work. I don't get error, sorry. Job just fails. It doesn't work for MKV or MP4 files.

Maybe it is a problem with command line:

I'm not sure whether it's the update to version 2449 which did it or something to do with the fact I downloaded lsmash to take it for a spin, but.....

When opening the file indexer it now defaults to lsmash for some file types (I guess when ffmsindex would normally be used) but while lsmash is the indexer there's no opportunity to rename the index file or change it's location. I understand that, but unfortunately after switching to ffmsindex the same applies. If I open a vob file so that dgindex is the default indexer I can rename/move the index file, and switching to ffmsindex does the same, but once lsmash has been selected the ability to rename/move other types of index files after selecting one of them is lost.

Also....
I understand from the changelog the lsmash index file must be in the same folder as the source. When MeGUI is set to use a different default output directory in settings however, the file indexer still defaults to the specified directory as usual, and because there's no option to change it when lsmash is the indexer, there's no way to run the indexing job without it resulting in an error. Should using lsmash as the indexer force the File Indexer to ignore the output directory specified in MeGUI's settings and use the source directory instead?

Out of curiosity (I know nothing about lsmash) it would appear lsmash doesn't create an index file for MP4, yet if the File Indexer isn't set to use the source directory as the output directory, indexing still results in an error. Why would that be?
All MeGUI shows for the command line in the log file is the following, regardless of whether indexing was successful or not (or the type of file being opened):
Job commandline: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" /c

Even though MeGUI worked perfectly before downloading lsmash, once it's installed MeGUI considers it a required component and refuses to work if it's not present (ie if the lsmash folder is deleted). Would it be preferred behaviour for MeGUI to revert back to functioning without it, just as it functioned before lsmash was installed? It was listed as a disabled update until I manually enabled it, which would seem to indicate it's not actually required for MeGUI to function.

One last question....
Is lsmash a better indexer than ffmsindex? I ask out of curiosity given the File Indexer now defaults to using it in preference to ffmsindex, at least for the file types I tried (mkv, mp4 and avi).

Thanks!

Edit: Given a few posts have been added while I was writing this one....
For me indexing with lsmash only results in an error if the default output directory is set to something other than the source in MeGUI's settings. If there's no default output directory set, lsmash indexing works fine. Regardless of the success or failure of indexing, all MeGUI shows for the command line in the log file is this:
Job commandline: "C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe" /c

Around 18 months ago I enquired as to whether MeGUI adding frame rate conversion to the script after indexing with ffmsindex could be considered a minor act of cleverness (given it does so for DirectShowSource scripts) only to be shot down in flames. I tried again six months later, but due to what seemed to be a slight miscommunication regarding what I was referring to, I was told it was a bad idea.
However with the arrival of MeGUI version 2439 not so long ago, MeGUI began adding ffmsindex's fpsnum and fpsden to the scripts it creates, allowing me to now ask a similar question regarding lsmash without feeling too foolish.

I indexed a couple of the MKVs which originally gave me problems when using ffmsindex (fpsnum and fpsden not added) and the result when indexing with lsmash was the same. Does lsmash have a frame rate conversion function similar to "fpsnum and fpsden" which MeGUI could automatically add to the scripts it creates?

Out of curiosity, the log file says (regarding ffmsindex) "add fpsnum and fpsden if required". So far it's always been added after indexing but I was wondering, when would MeGUI consider adding fpsnum and fpsden is required and when would it decide it's not?

Thanks.

I don't know what to say, by coping the dll in the system32 folder, LSMASH works. Otherwise it stops the job without giving error.

kalehrl: no x264 profiles are beeing pushed out. Maybe you had those profiles still cached in your update_cache folder? You should avoid to use them.
I know that and I haven't changed anything manually in MeGUI folder but they reappeared possibly with some of the updates.
I erased them in MeGUI\allprofiles\x264 and hopefully they won't reappear.

No, MeGUI needs to run an exe process during the job processing. As there is no such indexer available for lsmash I tricked MeGUI with this cmd process. Maybe not the best way (no time progress during the job run time) but it works without much effort.

Please upload such a MKV file. And no, lsmash does not have such options.

It will be added when the source FPS is known. Therefore in most cases it will be added. It works way better than adding AssumeFPS() but it may have some problems with VFR files. Samples are welcome

Is it possible to upload all log files of the last days? I would nike to see if they have been installed by the updater (for whatever reason).

Copy the file also in the tools\x264 folder. I try to find a way to get this to work without installing the redist package or copying it to the windows folder.
