Sweet. I'm glad that helped out. I love it when this community comes together to come up with settings that work. The flush settings definitely are the key.

Has anyone noticed that MadVR doesn't work properly on a monitor in portrait mode? I have a 20" in portrait mode flanking a 30" in landscape. If you start playing the file on the landscape monitor it works fine until you try to drag it to the portrait monitor. It will freeze MPC-HC and I have to kill the process in my task manager. If you try and open a file while its in the portrait monitor it doesn't freeze but there's no video, the MPC-HC window is just black. VMR-9 and EVR Custom Preset (the other two I've tested with this) work flawless, other than a slight hiccup when realizing the video needs to be oriented differently by 90 degrees when I drag to the new monitor.

It doesn't like to play ball with ReClock when using it's own video decoding does it? ReClock reports no video stream found when using MadVR's decoders. Also I have an anime it flat out refuses to play. I mean I can skip through it frame by frame but it does not actually play it no matter how many times I hit pause then play. It gets stuck at whichever frame I happen to be on. I tried it without ReClock to be sure so that's not the culprit. It plays other stuff fine (apart from ReClock not detecting any video that is).
BTW I am using the latest mpc-hc build from xvidvideo.ru and LAV splitter. Last edited by oddball; 27th February 2012 at 01:14. |

It can't. There's no path for ReClock to latch onto. When using the decoding of madVR, everything is contained internally.

Not only the playback issues, I also get various system stability problems with driver 295.73 on GTX260+ under Win7 x64. It has to be changed back to 285.62 to prevent various random system lock-up problems. But the driver 295.73 just works fine on my ION system. Thus I suspect the driver 295.73 might be more sensitive to the over-clocked system like my HTPC (C2D E8400@3600 1.04v). But I am too lazy to reset all frequency and clock settings to verify that. Just go back to the previous stable 285.62 driver which has been used for several months w/o the basic stability issue. Last edited by pie1394; 27th February 2012 at 08:34. |

madshi, here are the samples you requested:
http://www.mediafire.com/?d9402uyc95gk48m I just briefly went over the first sample with 0.81 and I actually see some combing in different spots. The second sample is from a PAL dvd and I use ReClock to play it at 24 fps, so I'm not sure if that affects the behavior of madvr's IVTC Let me know if you need more/longer samples |

What queue are you reffering to? CPU (default 16) or GPU (default 8) ?

About presentational glitches, I found out what caused the problem earlier for me on the laptop: tha LAN cable !
test: utorrent is running in the background (with very low download/upload speed (15KB/s)), so there's network traffic. - if only lan is plugged: I've got RANDOM glitches (and maybe dropped and delayed frames too), no matter what setting I'm using in MadVR - if only wifi is on: I've got only a few glitches or nothing at all , but only if I set '...after D3D presentation' to any of the flush values (I'm using 'flush') - if both is off: if I set '...after D3D presentation' to 'don't flush' -> I got presentational glitches , but if I set to 'flush' -> I've got zero These means: (like in ancient times) there are some collosion when the vga and the lan card is used -> are they using the same IRQ???? And, looking at the Device Manager (Win7 x64), they share the same IRQ ( 0x00000010(16) ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's the problem! (at least for me) So, I'll try to separate them, or if I can't then I'll try to search a new lan driver for the 'Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller'. Hope it helps to someone else ... Edit: Guess what, problem solved when I've updated a lan card driver ! (from the one on msi website to the latest on www.realtek.com.tw) I've got only a couple presentation glitches (instead a bunch of them) with these settings on my nvidia car and the latest drivers: flush+sleep+don't+flush ! I'm just curoius: can someone with an nvidia card can verify that the render queue is not full in exclusive mode with any of these setting? - '...after copy to backbuffer' : flush and wait (sleep) or flush and wait (loop) Thanks

Been using 295.73 with my GTX 560 ti from the start and it's the best driver I have ever seen. Everything works better now. Games and video. I even think madVR is more fluid and I'm not using even half of the video clocks while watching stuff. I have never had an issue with default settings of madVR, and I have been using it from since forever. All queues stay max all the time with both of my nVidia cards (GTX 260 and 560 ti).
For the one saying overclocking affects more with this driver is just plain wrong, everything is stable. Installed and tried with three different generation nVidia cards. And thanks for the new version Madshi. Nothing for me really but I really love your work. Last edited by kennae; 27th February 2012 at 13:24. |

madshi, thanks for releasing .81 with the Zoom Player fixes. There is a definite marked improvement when coming out of Fullscreen Exclusive Mode to window mode versus version .80 when "Present Several Frames In Advance" is checked. However with "Present Several Frames In Advance" unchecked (I get better smoother playback this way) the Zoom Player GUI still distorts when coming out of FSE to window mode though not quite as bad as v.80. Am mentioning this in case you are able in a future version to make Zoom Player more smooth coming out of FSE with the old FSE path ("Present Several Frames In Advance" unchecked) as well. Thanks :-)

Wow, I can now FINALLY drag MPC-HC between screens and fullscreen to exclusive mode without lag and without a frozen screen. Before exclusive mode could only be started on one screen and then I would have to reopen the video clip to use fullscreen exclusive mode on my other screen.
I must say that Windowed <-> exclusive mode and rapid switching between exclusive modes of different screens is now completely smooth and fixed from my viewpoint. Only bug report that I have is regarding the display changer which I mentioned before in the thread. Basically when the refresh rate changes on my screen (which also changes the resolution from 2048 x 1152 @ 60Hz to 1080p @ 60Hz, 50Hz, or 24Hz) the the video clip display refresh rate reported in the OSD still says 59.940Hz (from the previous refresh rate of 60Hz). That seems to be the only major problem in madVR for me atm. Feature request: Is it possible to add key commands to enable (or invoke) the display changer and to disable (or stay at the original refresh rate)? Basically to be able to have the display changer 'execute' at will? Last edited by dansrfe; 27th February 2012 at 21:11. |

Hi madshi, today in mpc-hc I got a message about mpc-hc crashing but I see a madVR crash report was created on the desktop. Is it useful to send this to you somehow?
I'm using the latest madVR 0.81 and mpc-hc build 4090 |
