Just an observation that if your batch encoding AVC files the batch stops at each file to ask if you want to remux. you have to be there to click yes/no.

I have a feature request, but before I do, I wanted to say it's a great tool for me! I have been transcoding some of my anime files into PS3 compatible xvid files, and it helped me learn a lot of the parameters of mencoder itself.

Now, I would like to request...

1. AVISynth mode (activated by a check box) - all you need to do is to automatically create a file with the .avs extension with DirectShowSource("filename"); and then use that file as the input to mencoder.

It's simple enough for me to create the file manually, but when you're doing upwards of 20+ episodes at once.... it gets tedious^^;

Oh, the reason I want this is that this is the only way to hardsub mkv anime files with embedded .ass subtitles.

2. Have a place to force the audio sample rate

For some reason when converting some files, mencoder complains the sample rate is too low, and I had to manually add "-srate 48000" to divx.bat...

3. Can the default of the video size be "original size"? The settings in the first two tabs can't seem to be saved...

Thanks in advance!

Problem is mencoder itself can't do mkv with embedded fonts/subtitles. It will transcode but you don't get the subtitles. Using AVIScript is the only way I know of right now. Thanks for taking a look at it.

Will try with autoFF when I go home tonight

I found a bug in AutoMEN 3.8. You can see that it lack a colon between crf and threads (marked in bold). This happen only when I choice Quality Great, all other Quality Encoding have went well.

Code:
"G:\AutoMen\mencoder.exe" -vf harddup,crop=704:448:8:70,scale=720:-2,hqdn3d=2:1:2 -sws 2 -priority idle -o "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.avi" -ovc x264 -x264encopts crf=16threads=auto:frameref=3:bframes=2:deblock:direct_pred=auto:level=41:partitions=p8x8,b8x8:me=hex:me_range=12:subq=5:chroma_me:mixed_refs:brdo:bime:trellis=0:weight_b:nr=0 -oac faac -faacopts br=144:mpeg=4:object=1 -channels 2 "K:\Redigering\Black Mask.mpg"
"G:\AutoMen\mplayer.exe" "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.avi" -dumpaudio -dumpfile "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.aac"
"G:\AutoMen\mencoder.exe" "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.avi" -o "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.h264" -of rawvideo -ovc copy -nosound
"G:\AutoMen\mp4box.exe" -add "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.h264" -add "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.aac" -fps 25.000 "C:\Work in progress\Black Mask_automen.mp4"

Actually I found a similar error today... when you use the advance option to set the sample rate, the 2nd pass will fail because the option will become "-srate 48000-oac mp3lame" (there needs to be a space between 48000 and -oac)

I have found a little bug in the 9th video quality profile (copy from the batch file generated by automen) :

Code:
first mencoder line
:bframes=32:

second mencoder line
:bframes=3:
Mencoder does well first pass, but not the second one, i guess we should have bframes=3 for the two passes

hi buzzqw,

thanks for your nice prgramm. I like the option to manually select if the clips should be deinterlaced or not. This is a feature I miss in many other programms - they do it almost all automaticly.

The only thing that is difficult for me in AutoMen 4.1 is the handling of the queue. I'm used to do it like in AutoGK: work on a job, do the settings (crop etc.), have a preview and then put it in the queue. This does only work in AutoMen for the first job. if I work on the second job and want to control the crop-settings by a quick preview I always see a preview of the first job in the queue.

I'm only able to get a preview of the second job if I put this one into queue, use the P-button and cancel the preview of the first shown job. This is not very comfortable even if you cannot delete a job of the queue-list.

Is there a simple way to make this easier?

Thanks again for your work!

now preview is based on what file is "selected" on queue window

also update a new full package http://www.64k.it/andres/data/autome...Men42_FULL.rar

Hello Buzzqw,

Quote:

thank you for this change, the handling of a bunch of queue-jobs is now a bit easier. By the way, is there a way to delete one job out of the list? Is the queue connected to a batchfile witch maybe can be edited?

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug in the preview of the main window. If I drag an mpeg-file into it and try to get a preview (P-button or crop-preview) the command-window gets up and vanish and no mplayer appears. If this job is then put into queue, there is missing the filename for this job and of course no preview is shown, too. Encoding is also not possible - I think it's because of the missing filename.

If I put a job into queue without doing a preview before, everythings working normal (encoding and queue-preview).

I would personnally prefer to be able to do a preview before queueing the file.

This was my idea, too. I think the best way would be to separate the preview from main-window and queue-window. This would mean you would have a button for previewing selected files in the window of the queue and another button in the main-window witch shows the actual job. So you have divided the two functions - this would be the cleanest way.
