This is a wonderful tool and I truly appreciate all of your hard work with it!
Please update to the most recent release and see if you problem still exists. I've made many fixes to ALTERNATE output since v0.44.3.

@colinhunt

I'm picking up "House at the End of the Street" later today. I'll see what I can find.

@jdobbs
I have the N.A. version, Canadian, of Taken 2. I'll do an encode and try to follow HomeDepot4's settings to see on which end the problem lies if you wish.

Thanks, I'm ripping it now.

Hopefully it is the same issue as colinhunt is seeing on "House at the End of the Street" -- I ran that one earlier with no issues, but my disc is obviously different than his as the playlist doesn't match.

I previously did Taken 2 to 1920x1080 DD640 with no issues. Could it be the resizing or a x264 tweak causing the issue?

Did you output it to MKV? It's dying when MKVMERGE is being run.

Yes I did, I primarily use MKV now a days for my HTPC. Still do the odd BD25 when the extras are worth it.

Hmm... interesting. I'll go back and review any changes I've made recently to the MKVMERGE command line. Strange, though, as you'd think it would be an issue all the time.

Hopefully when I run "Taken 2" I'll be able to repeat the issue. If I can do that it's usually an easy trace to find the fix.

Do you want me to check which version of MKVMERGE was in use at the time?

If it is the latest download, I know the version. (unless you have changed it)

I actually meant the MKVMERGE version for the good MKV encode.
6.0.0 on Feb 8,2013 according to MediaInfo

I see. The current version is 6.1.0. I have the job running now. Hopefully I'll see the same results.

Well, I'm not resizing and my tweak is "--tune film" only.

It happens.

I found the issue in "Taken 2". It's related to the length of the chapter file name when there are enough parts to make the file name too long. I need to add some code to handle that possibility. I'm not positive if this is the issue on the other disc, but I'll see what I can find.

@colinhunt

I've corrected the issue I found in "Taken 2". But it doesn't seem to be related to the issue you've reported. Yours seems to be happening during MKVMERGE, and that one happened before MKVMERGE was executed. Since your release of "House at the End of the Street" seems to be different than mine, I'm not sure what I can do.

When you changed to Directshow, did you resume the last job or start over from scratch? If you resumed, could you try clearing the working folder and starting from scratch?

Is there any way you could point me (Amazon maybe?) to the version of the disc that is having the issue?
