Fix/repair problem with unplayable MP4/3GPP, missing Atom??

Hello,

First of all, I hope this post stands in the right thread, if not maybe a Mod wil help moving it.

I've been busy for a while now with this problem and I have googled for quit a while, learned alot but didn't find the solution for my problem yet.

I've got a problem with a mp4 movie wich i've recorded with my phone. After I've accidentily deleted it, I tried to recover it with an undelete program.. Wich worked perfectly in the past..

But now i can recover the file but can't view it.. (Also VLC & MPC didn't work)

Next to the movie files there where also other files recovered, files with no extension, with the same name as the video but with extra "_Vide" in the name.. Very small files about 4-5 kB's..

The movie files give the next sheet in MediaInfo & MediaCoder:

Quote:
Complete name : D:\TEMPP\DCIM\100MSDCF\_OV00869.MP4
Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : 3GPP Media Release 5

Duration : 1mn 49s
Overall bit rate : 336 Kbps

Codec : MPEG-4 Visual
Codec profile : Simple Profile/Level 3
Codec settings/BVOP : Yes
Codec settings/QPel : No
Codec settings/GMC : 0
Codec settings/Matri : Default

Minimum frame rate : 0.000 fps
Maximum frame rate : 43.478 fps
Resolution : 8 bits
Interlacement : Progressive
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.000
Language : Japanese
Strange thing is that the language is Japanese, If anything it should be Dutch or at least English I would think..

I did't overwrite the data on the phone, since I made the movie and deleted it, I didn't record any other video's, made pictures or write anything on the phonecard.. So the files should be undeleted corectly..
Before I deleted them, the files the played fine on the phone..

I've tried a lot of programs but for example AtomicParsely, but since I've never worked with this kind of stuff I don't know what to do exactely..

One of the programs gave information about an missing or broken Moov Atom, but I don't know wich program it was, so I can't copy-paste the error...

Does anybody has any idea? Or at least can help me find out what the problem is, by give me some hints with other programs wich I can try?

Another program; AtomicParsley gives the following result:

When I use AtomicParsley with the -T function I get the following message:

But when I try "-t" the program gives this message:

Then AtomicParsley stops and is shutdown by xp.. (standard XP error message that the program has te be terminated with the standard question to tell Microsoft about is.. )

Anybody knows any other ways to find out what is wrong with the file, or better, knows how to repair it?

Please, your help would be very much appreciated!

Sorry for any bad English, since Dutch is my mothertongue

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

Just guessing here, but I think there's another problem (Besides the indication of Japanese language), namely

Oh!! I didn't notice that before..!!

Hmm.. kind of too much.. But is it possible to fix that, reduce the framerate?

Or at least a way to find out what the problem is? Any programs that could be helpfull.

I'm kind of a noob in this stuff, eager to learn, but could use any help

Make this video available for us to download, so that we can poke around with it. If you can't, for some reason, then you are SOL.

Hi,

If you're on Mac, you can use free app Treasured to diagnose and preview the file.

Then there's a repair service if you want to fix it.
Note that there's an Absolut Privacy protocol, to have your file repaired without sending data. (based on a "sister" file).

Regards, BJ
