Change Audio DVD-Rebuilder

I was using DVD rebuilder on a new DVd I have and I noticed that the Audio has a bitrate of 448 Kbit instead of the standard 384, so I wanted to reduce it to 384, but I didn't find any options to do it.

Does somebody know if it's possible or if I have to do it before using dvd-rebuilder?

Thanks

DVD-RB does not touch the audio by design. You can exclude audio and subtitle tracks from the conversion, but you cannot reencode an audio track to a different bitrate.

So you need to reencode your audio outside of DVD-RB, but this makes it difficult to keep your menus untouched. You will probably need something like PGCEdit or VobBlanker for this task.

Good luck

448Kbs is more common than 384Kbs on original DVDs.

I think that the possibility to change the audio bitrate or downmix to stereo could help give more bitrate to video.

This is absolutely correct...

But I have the feeling that jdobbs has no intention to update his DVD-RB software to allow reencoding audio. So you are on your own here. It is not really hard, just a little time consuming.

Just google for "DVD replace audio track", and you will find a lot of information. The VideoHelp posts by manono are still up to date (you may use different software for the tasks, but the workflow stays the same). I have been doing this a lot in the past.

Another recommendation to free up bitrate for the video is to use "MenuShrink" by jeanl. It can replace animated menus with stills. This will keep the menu functionality, but it can save a lot of space for the menus, and this extra space can be used for the video instead.

Cheers
