Unless you resize in ffdshow, then madvr will be doing the resizing.

I don't use FFDShow, I use DiAVC.
The reason I'm asking is because I can see the following lines in the madVR video properties:

Code:
VIDEOINFOHEADER:
rcSource: (0,0)-(1280,720)
rcTarget: (0,0)-(1280,720)
Isn't going full screen also means that at least the horizontal value should be 1920?

Press Ctrl+J and look for 'target rectangle'.

My test shows the following
Code:
VIDEOINFOHEADER:
rcSource: (0,0)-(0,0)
rcTarget: (0,0)-(0,0)
Those lines are ptobably for something else.

Well, the "target rectangle" show, as expected 1920xsomething.
Are those stats provided by madVR?

Ctrl+J is from MadVR. If you Ctrl+J with EVR-Custom or Haali's Renderer, there will be a different display.

Connect it to EVR-Custom and check what it is outputting, as MadVR only accepts YV12.

I hope I didn't make some stupid mistake, but the madVR Option is grayed out in MPC HC (recent version) for me. I am using the 64bit Version on Windows 7. Any idea what's wrong?

No joy on x64. madVR is only available in a 32-bit version, so you can only use it in the 32-bit version of MPC-HC, ffdshow, etc.

Thanks.
But now in the 32bit version of MPC I can select madVR but it is not used. I already tried disabling every output option of ffdshow other than YV12 but it didnt work.

I'd suggest giving us as much info as possible, on your video hardware and source media especially, as that statement is a tad broad for troubleshooting purposes.

The testfile were various mkv files with H.264 (x264) Video (720p) and DTS or AC3 Audio The hardware is a Mobility Radeon 4650 with Catalyst 9.11. Output per HDMI into an AVR and from that per HDMI to the television. OS is still Windows 7 x64.

You are using 32-bit MPC-HC, and 32-bit FFDShow?

This should basically work with FFDShow default settings.. Make sure that Hardware Deinterlacing or anything like that is disabled, or just flush the settings and it should work.

When you say MadVR is not being used, you mean that you can't select it, or it is selected, but instead 'Video Renderer' is used?

Yes. In 64bit MPC-HC madVR is grayed out.

But, FFDShow(or something) is definitely loading in MPC?

Check the 'pin info' for whatever video renderer is loading and search for "- Connection media type:" and under that is listed the colourspace.

Yes. The Filters loaded are the MPC-HC internal splitter, MPC-HC internal audio switcher, ffdshow audio and video decoder and the video and audio renderer.
Colorspace output by ffdshow is YV12.

In the Catalyst Control Center I have everything in Avivo Video Section set to application settings.
What do you mean by flush the settings?

I can select it but standard video renderer is used instead.

That's what it reports under pin info?

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU\ffdshow]
- in a .reg file, which would delete all FFDShow Video Decoder settings.
