Atak, I will try and get something to you in a couple days as I will be out of town until Thursday evening. I will need to encode a new test subject and then clip out the problem. As for source, well, I am not sure if there is some correlation or not. I have tried both VC-1 and AVC with equal effect.

I have the latest RipBot and find it useful for converting mkvs that will not play on my TV that plays MKV from USB - I guess the TV just a bit too fussy with some MKV settings.

Anyway, it works perfectly except for one file where I get Exception EConvertError in module RipBot264.exe at 000093E2, "is not a valid floating point value. Previous versions did not report this error and simply hung gathering information.

The file seems to be normal and plays correctly apart from the TV with built-in mkv player.

The frame size maybe causing the problem as it is 1802x1080. The correct aspect ratio in this case 1.75:1, so it probably should be 1890x1080.

First though, I need to open the file in RipBot264.

Any help would be appreciated.

So are you on Windows XP? What version of ffdshow did you install? Should be a version higher than 4225 on XP.

It's not my encode. According to imdb it should be 1.75:1 or 1890x1080.

Could the problem be the odd width/height ratio?

Do we have to use CQ for distributed encoding or can we use 2 pass encoding as well? I'm trying to get distribution going but when I connect to the second computer; it keeps saying Encoding Started... and then like 5 seconds later it says Encoding Terminated... Doesn't seem to want to send the data over to the second computer

*EDIT*
Okay for people having issues where encoding goes from Encoding to Idle:
1. Both computers MUST BE IN THE SAME HOMEGROUP(for some reason it doesn't work if it's not)
2. Check that both O/Ses run the same Bit version (i.e. if one of your computers is 32bit and your hosting server is 64bit, you will have to force the 64 bit server to use the 32bit version of x264)

Yes I tried the update, no I did not try Guest, but I did have everyone read/write
also when I tried 2-pass encoding on sequence 5 it said invalid first frame (empty) and kept looping and the sequence before that only processed 1 out of 14400 frames, so far CQ is working

Basically ripbot264temp folder MUST be accessible for all computers . You can manually check if you can see content of ripbot264temp folder via explorer.

Is the Source realy damaged or is it a bug of Ripbot ?

I am curious, has anyone actually looked at their encodes thoroughly after using distributed encoding? I didn't and only realized after doing numerous movies that they each had glitches in different 10 minutes spots. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person with the problem, but then again nothing would surprise me.
